2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards

The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards 2019 took place on Monday (November 4) in New York City. Celebrities, actresses, models and fashion folk turned up to the event to lend their support and show off their own sartorial sensibilities.

Jasmine Tookes: It was all about the accordion pleating of her brilliant white Azzi & Osta Spring 2019 Couture gown and she let the detail shine with her accessories.

Kaitlyn Dever: This Prabal Gurung Spring 2020 outfit is a party on top with its feathers and volume and business on the bottom. I would have liked to see it broken up for a more playful finish.

Candice Swanepoel: The model looked blooming beautiful in Jason Wu Collection Spring 2020. Some might find it too summery for this time of year, but the ensemble does transport you with its effortless silhouette and flowers.

Julia Schlaepfer: ‘The Politician’ actress balanced sweetness with sharp tailoring in Prabal Gurung Fall 2019. Wearing the jacket sans shirt added sultriness.

Georgia Fowler: Clad in Baja East Spring 2020 and Messika Jewelry, the New Zealand model look effortless, but the shoes feel out of place with the lightness of the frock.

Judith Light: She wears graphic silhouettes and black very well so this Michael Kors Collection suit was very much in her wheelhouse.

Carolyn Murphy: The model was another one to show her support for Thakoon in a breezy and effortless LBD with glittering sandals.

Gigi Hadid: Her Dion Lee Spring 2020 outfit oozed elegant autumn fashion with its dark colour palette. The semi-sheer top takes away from the braided details.

Kat Graham: The actress made a colourful statement in Christopher John Rogers Spring 2020 as she posed with the designer, who was the 2019 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner. She opted to wear the dress as a full length version as opposed to hemming it to the ankle length of the runway.

Ashley Graham: The expectant beauty was also in a Christopher John Rogers dress which showed off her growing baby bump.

Eva Chen: Anyone having deja vu with this Altuzarra Fall 2019 dress will recall it was previously worn by Ilana Glazer. The brown boots and belt ground the floaty style.

Taylor Hill: Her Ralph Lauren ensemble had the timeless tailoring of a tuxedo presented in a fresh way with the longline velvet jacket and bow heels.

Paloma Elsesser: Many will probably be pleased to see she removed the breastplate from the runway version of this J.W. Anderson Spring 2020 look. This allowed for a greater appreciation of the draping and ink splatter print.

Bella Hadid: It was all about the cheeky pearly accents of this fitted Alexander Wang ensemble. Not even the glittery bag could distract from them.

Jameela Jamil: There was no missing ‘The Good Place’ star in neon Christopher John Rogers Spring 2020. The buttoned-up version melds all the layers together.

Anna Wintour: One got a whole new appreciation for this neutral floral printed Marc Jacobs Spring 2020 dress when the runway layers were removed. It still makes a head-turning statement.

Diane von Furstenberg: Unsurprisingly, the designer was in DVF. Her look was cool and not try-hardy.

Anna Baryshnikov: The American actress’ rich red velvet Khaite Resort 2020 dress and Sam Edelman Deana stilettos will have many thinking about the holidays. The black version wouldn’t have had as much impact.
