2019 BAFTAs Red Carpet Roundup

There was an abundance of elegance at the 2019 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 10) at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Amy Adams: The Best Supporting Actress nominee struck a pose in a merlot Prada gown. Removing the belt and brooch would have allowed the statement shoulders and rich colour to shine.

Salma Hayek: Wearing Gucci with a Gucci headpiece, she demonstrated her flare for fashion and showed the brand can still make a statement without its typical clash of colours and patterns. Boucheron jewels complete her look.

amfAR New York Gala 2019

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features amfAR New York Gala 2019

The amfAR New York Gala 2019 on Wednesday (February 6) presented bold look after bold look.

Heidi Klum: The supermodel showed off her assets in glittering Paolo Sebastian accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. The embroidery attempts to add whimsy.

Kim Kardashian: It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that it was all about the eye-popping cleavage of her vintage Versace look with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Karolina Kurkova: The bold colour and fluid silhouette of her Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2019 look was mesmerizing, and more effective than some of the cleavage-baring styles.

‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Los Angeles Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ New York Premiere

The ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday (February 5) had a range of looks to discuss.

Dua Lipa: She dialed up the drama in a highly embellished Prada gown. The mix of sequins and beads is sublime, but the low back might actually be my favourite detail. I foresee the chunky platforms being divisive.

2019 Oscars Nominees Luncheon

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 Oscars Nominees Luncheon

The 2019 Oscars Nominees Luncheon also saw a number of other bold-named stars joining Lady Gaga and Rachel Weisz for the occasion on Monday (February 4) in Beverly Hills, California.

Amy Adams: The actress kept it simple and luncheon-chic in a rich, forest-green Oscar de la Renta dress paired with Azza Fahmy chandelier earrings as her main source of embellishment.

Regina King:
This ballet-pink Prada dress was undoubtedly precious. But, it struck me as just a bit too twee for Regina.

Yalitza Aparicio: Yalitzia was also wearing a Prada frock that was slightly less precious, which is a good thing in this case. I found its retro silhouette a nice counterbalance to all that signature embellishment, too.

Emma Roberts In Zimmermann, DROMe & Prada – IMDb Studio & ‘Paradise Hills’ Sundance Film Festival Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Emma Roberts In Zimmermann, DROMe, Prada & Chloe - IMDb Studio & 'Paradise Hills' Sundance Film Festival Premiere

Emma Roberts was also at Sundance Film Festival where she is promoting her new film, ‘Paradise Hills’.

IMDb Studio: On Saturday (January 26), the actress was spotted making her way to the IMDb Studios wearing a Zimmerman two-piece look which is fun, flirty and oozing with the brands signature feminine charm. I love how the DROMe coat and Chloe ‘Reilly’ boots really pulls this look together and gives it a slight edge.

Boucheron Paris Fashion Week Dinner

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features oucheron Dinner

It looks like Gong Li didn’t get the all black memo for the Boucheron dinner during Paris Fashion Week on Sunday (January 20).

Uma Thurman: This is the kinda all black look I can get on board with. From the Prada pailette covered dress, to the chic way this she accessorized it, I’m fully on-board with this from head to toe.

Lea Seydoux: By complete contrast, I as less enthused by Lea’s Louis Vuitton offering. Even the jewels can’t take this to another level.

Coco Rocha: Christian Siriano is always about super sleek silhouettes. This jumpsuit is made all the more appealing with its ’70s-style fringes and sequins detailing.

2019 Critics’ Choice Awards Menswear

2019 Critics’ Choice Awards Menswear

The 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards were on Sunday (January 13) in Santa Monica, California, and the men showed up just as much as the women when it comes to the statement looks of the evening. There was hardly a standard suit in the mix here.

Timothée Chalamet: Your Best Dressed of last week kept his style-forward streak going strong in this painterly Alexander McQueen Resort 2019 suit. As always, he pulls off the directional look — complete with white sneakers — so seamlessly and nonchalantly.

John Legend: The singer-actor recently turned 40, but he looks as good as ever — especially with the rich, textural effect of this Ermenegildo Zegna XXX suit, styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Thomas III’ shoes.

Stephan James: The contrast piping on this slightly shrunken, slim-line Thom Browne suit gave it a an eye-catching edge. A Montblanc timepiece and David Yurman ring completed the look.

Best Dressed Of The Week

Apologies for the site being down for a few hours. It had reached it limit. Probably as a result of awards season.

Here are the results of the Best Dressed poll.

I was very surprised that you selected Sarah Paulson in Prada and Timothée Chalamet in Louis Vuitton, as the majority of the comments weren’t favourable to either.

But I guess that means that the silent majority were successful in this case.

Emily Blunt In Prada – 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Emily Blunt In Prada - 2019 Critics' Choice Awards

Emily Blunt attended the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday (January 13) in Santa Monica, California, where she was nominated for ‘Mary Poppins Returns’.

The British actress was oozing plenty of old Hollywood glamour wearing Prada.

Some might be over the Prada applying crystals to the majority of their red carpet gowns, but on this occasion the look feels so right and opulent for the occasion.

Styling her look with lavishly embellished Jimmy Choo ‘Cloud’ clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewels was the perfect course of action.

Lucy Boynton In Prada – 2nd Annual Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society Award Ceremony

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Lucy Boynton In Prada - 2nd Annual Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society Award Ceremony

After shimmering in gold at the Golden Globes, Lucy Boynton was radiant once again on the red carpet for the 2nd Annual Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society Award Ceremony on Wednesday (January 9) in Hollywood, California, where she joined Amandla Stenberg, Brie Larson and Rami Malek.

Crystal and metallic fringe embellishment keeps this Prada gown glam and pretty, even though I kinda wish there were a lot more of them, so it completely covered the lining.

I love how the cold-shoulder detailing reveals some skin while breathing contemporary impact into this timeless piece.

Sarah Paulson In Prada – ‘Glass’ London Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Sarah Paulson In Prada - 'Glass' London Premiere

Sarah Paulson graced the red carpet at the ‘Glass’ London premiere alongside Anya Taylor-Joy on Wednesday (January 9).

I know a lot of you were totally underwhelmed by the Golden Globes, so Sarah is here to give you the fashion moment you’ve been craving since the turn of the year.

Now isn’t this the best red carpet gown you are likely to see in 2019?

Prada, what can I say? You knocked it out of the ball-park. I can’t remember the last time I was left so in awe of a Prada look.
