Best Dressed Of The Week

Apologies for the site being down for a few hours. It had reached it limit. Probably as a result of awards season.

Here are the results of the Best Dressed poll.

I was very surprised that you selected Sarah Paulson in Prada and Timothée Chalamet in Louis Vuitton, as the majority of the comments weren’t favourable to either.

But I guess that means that the silent majority were successful in this case.

Emmy Rossum In Ralph Lauren – 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Emmy Rossum In Ralph Lauren - 2019 Critics' Choice Awards

If you were expecting another princess gown from Emmy Rossum for the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday (January 13) in Santa Monica, California, prepare to be amazed.

The ‘Shameless’ star opted for gothly glamour wearing a burgundy Ralph Lauren Collection Fall 2018 velvet gown styled with gold accessories.

I love it when Emmy throws us a curve ball.

I know those of you who don’t favour princess gowns will appreciate this change of direction.

But in essence, it’s not too far away from what we expect, as it still sits in her elegant wheelhouse.

Lady Gaga In Ralph Lauren – National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Lady Gaga In Ralph Lauren - National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala

Those of you wishing for Lady Gaga to tone down her makeup, were not going to get their wish granted at The National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala which was held in New York on Tuesday (January 8).

The actress-singer was channelling old Hollywood glamour in her custom Ralph Lauren tuxedo-inspired halter gown embellished with more than 23,000 jet crystals, styled with a hand painted gold and black feather cape from the Fall 2012 collection and Messika Jewelry.

I love that this is so dramatic in standard Gaga fashion, but so far, 2019 Lady Gaga isn’t slaying my life like 2018 Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga accepted the National Board of Review award for Best Actress for her performance in ‘A Star is Born’ on the night.

2019 Golden Globe Awards Menswear Roundup

2019 Golden Globe Awards Menswear Roundup2

There were plenty of menfolk on the red carpet at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 6) in Beverly Hills, California, and I was delighted by the diversity of looks they offered up.

Ben Whishaw: Nominated for ‘A Very English Scandal,’ the actor was looking very fine in his Alexander McQueen embroidered suit styled so crisply with the dress shirt that you didn’t even miss the tie.

Stephan James: The ‘Homecoming’ star and nominee couldn’t have looked more dapper if he tried in this impeccably tailored Ralph Lauren Purple Label velvet suit styled supremely well with a Swarovski Odysseia pendant, Chopard timepiece, cufflinks and Christian Louboutin ‘Alpha Male’ toe-cap loafers.

Luke Evans: Also wearing an Alexander McQueen ensemble, Luke went for a slightly more traditional mood in his formal white dinner jacket with black lapels.

Camilla Belle In Ralph Lauren – The Beverly Hilton Unveils Menu For The 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature Camilla Belle In Ralph Lauren - The Beverly Hilton Unveils Menu For The 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Camilla Belle was on hand to help The Beverly Hilton unveil their menu for the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Thursday (December 13) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress opted to wear a chic navy colour and immaculate pleats in this dress from Ralph Lauren.

I love how the dress is both understated and exquisite, and perfectly in tune with Camilla’s elegant style.

A pretty pink lip colour enlivened the look with dual-colour pumps preventing the look from feeling too one-note.

Priyanka Chopra Weds Nick Jonas In Ralph Lauren

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature the Priyanka Chopra Weds Nick Jonas In Ralph Lauren

Newlyweds Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra released the images of their three-day long wedding ceremony, that was blend of the cultures from the couple’s families, and they both dressed in the appropriate ensembles to match.

For the Christian ceremony on Saturday (December 1) at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, the bride and groom (and the entire wedding party) wore Ralph Lauren, who, until now, had only designed three wedding dresses in the last five decades (his daughter, daughter-in-law, and niece were the lucky trio).

This was a very sweet gesture as the couple first publicly met back in 2017 as Ralph Lauren’s guests at the Met Gala, so it seemed only logical that the designer be involved in their wedding day.

Her hand-beaded and hand-embroidered dress, featured floral and scroll motifs and lace-effect tulle appliqués with scalloped sleeves and a high-neck collar. I love the Indian influences, the lightness of the dress and how the look was topped off by a 75-foot-long tulle veil.

Hand-stitched into the embroidery design were 8 words and phrases, specially chosen by the Bride.

2. 1st December 2018
3. Madhu & Ashok
4. Om Namah Shivay (a Hindi mantra invoking Lord Shiva)
5. Family
6. Hope
7. Compassion
8. Love

2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

Here is a roundup from the 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday (November 26) in New York City, which was also attended by Regina Hall and Kathryn Hahn.

Rachel Weisz: What may surprise you is that Rachel’s Michael Kors Collection white-and-black gown is covered with micro sequins. The new mum is looking as gorgeous as always.

Uzo Aduba: I really love this Balmain look for Uzo. The colour is gorgeous on her, and the embellishments really inject some glamour into this fairly simple design by the fashion house.

Kiki Layne: There were more embellishment to be had on this red carpet thanks to Kiki in her striking Miu Miu look. She’s looking like a young Whitney Houston here about to belt out ‘I Will Always Love You.’
