The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party Red Carpet Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party

It was a jam-packed red carpet at The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party on Saturday (January 5) in Los Angeles, California, with 18 more more ladies joining Thandie Newton,  Emma StoneKiki LayneGemma Chan and Laura Harrier.

Emily Blunt: I was at first swept away by the beautiful Oscar de la Renta Pre Fall 2019 tulle polka dot dress, then I fell more in love with this look when I got to the yellow sandals.

Rachel Brosnahan: The colour of this weekend for Rachel was yellow. You were slightly underwhelmed by her Golden Globes offering, so how does this Christian Siriano Spring 2019 embellished sheath fare? The look was beautifully styled with yellow and gold Malone Souliers ‘Maureen’ pumps.

Rosamund Pike: It looks like the Pike x Givenchy union has a lot more to offer, and you’ll find me complaining following her Golden Globes outing and this flouncy Spring 2019 asymmetric dress. The only thing missing from this union is some colour every once in a while, as I’m worried this might hit a Rooney Mara “always black” brick wall. Pierre Hardy ‘Gena’ sandals completed her look.

Glenn Close In Armani Privé – 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Glenn Close In Armani Privé - 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Glenn Close attended the 2019 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 6) in Beverly Hills, California.

Nominated for ‘The Wife,’ the actress wore an Armani Privé design.

The cape-like gown, punctuated by the abstract bow detail, might be a Marmite ‘like or loathe’ moment.

I, for one, was a fan; the look translated both sophistication and subtle drama, contrasted with the modern effortlessness of her platinum hair and natural makeup.

2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala

There were many more gorgeous ladies who joined Emily Blunt, Laura Harrier, Regina King and Emma Stone on the red carpet for the 2019 Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala on Thursday (January 3) in California.

Glenn Close: The actress opted to keep things simple and elegant in her INGIE Paris black wrap jumpsuit styled with Cartier jewels, Christian Louboutin’s ‘Yasling’ slingbacks and ‘Palmette’ clutch.

Yalitza Aparicio: Ezra Miller deservedly picked up the best newcomer of 2018, but my runner up was Yalitza, because like me she loves colour, and usually prints, but on this occasion she kept things simple,  yet bold in this red custom Adeam tuxedo dress. I love how the chiffon skirt provides an interesting, more feminine balance to the structure of everything up top.

Linda Cardellini: The actress was definitely projecting a summery mood in her Monique Lhuillier Spring 2019 butterfly guipure lace strapless bell skirt dress. Dainty, but not twee, the look was styled with APM Monaco jewels and a Tyler Ellis Lee pouchet.

End Of The Week Red Carpet Roundup

As the week draws to a close, we look back at some of the beauties who made statements on the red carpet.

Emily Blunt: The actress showcased the designer’s feminine charm in a brightly coloured Carolina Herrera Spring 2019 outfit at SiriusXM’s Town Hall with the cast of ‘Mary Poppins Returns.’ The frock will likely have many dreaming of spring.

Tracee Ellis Ross: The ‘Black-ish’ star embraced a glamorous disco spirit in Gucci Resort 2019 at Equality Now’s Make Equality Reality Gala 2018. It’s a completely different mood than the runway version and is in keeping with her bold aesthetic.

Glenn Close: Outfitted in Dior Pre-Fall 2018 with a Dior leather embroidered tarot clutch, the actress proved the merits of clean lines at the Museum Of The Moving Image Salute to Glenn Close.

2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

Here is a roundup from the 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday (November 26) in New York City, which was also attended by Regina Hall and Kathryn Hahn.

Rachel Weisz: What may surprise you is that Rachel’s Michael Kors Collection white-and-black gown is covered with micro sequins. The new mum is looking as gorgeous as always.

Uzo Aduba: I really love this Balmain look for Uzo. The colour is gorgeous on her, and the embellishments really inject some glamour into this fairly simple design by the fashion house.

Kiki Layne: There were more embellishment to be had on this red carpet thanks to Kiki in her striking Miu Miu look. She’s looking like a young Whitney Houston here about to belt out ‘I Will Always Love You.’

22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards

The busy weekend of events saw more celebs join Nicole Kidman and Anne Hathaway on the red carpet for the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 4) in LA.

Shailene Woodley: In recent times when I see Shailene, I feel like I should know her style by now, but it’s like she’s in the development–experimental stage at present. For example, back in 2014 when she was promoting ‘Divergent’ I don’t think she would’ve worn this Ralph & Russo jacket and shorts combo. While the look does feel fresh and new, I found the sleeves overwhelming here. Yvan Tufenkjian earrings and Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps completed her look.

Janelle Monae: I always feel like there is a theme going on with Janelle, and on this occasion I love the ’60s mod theme imbued within her tri-colour The 2nd Skin Co. dress complete with white go-go boots.

Sophia Bush: I adore the luxe texture of her animal print A.L.C. suit, but the pink ADEAM bag was an eyesore with this look. Sophia’s accessories are usually on point, so I’m really disappointed on this occasion.

Glenn Close In Giorgio Armani – Late Night with Seth Meyers

Glenn Close In Giorgio Armani - Late Night with Seth Meyers

Glenn Close continued to promote her latest film, ‘The Wife’ with a guest appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday (August 13).

The actress, who has a fondness for black, switched gears for the London premiere, then took things a step further in this leather trousers and striped blazer look combo from Giorgio Armani.

Made to be worn on summer days, the blazer takes a structured, masculine style which is softened with smooth canvas blend to create a semi-relaxed look.

I like that she mixed things up a bit here, but I have a feeling this look will have you divided.
