Natalia Vodianova In Dundas & Valentino – Naked Heart Foundation Dinner

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Natalia Vodianova In Dundas - Naked Heart Foundation

Natalia Vodianova hosted the Naked Heart Foundation Dinner on Thursday (January 9) in Florence, Italy.

As you know, this has always been the one event of the year when Natalia would wear red.

2019 tells a different story, as the model opted to wear black Dundas.

The slinky Fall 2018 velvet gown may not have been expected, but I’m yet to see a velvet look during the Fall-Winter season that didn’t make me swoon, and this was just oozing a darkly romantic aesthetic.

InStyle And Warner Bros. Golden Globes After Party

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features InStyle And Warner Bros. Golden Globes After Party

The InStyle and Warner Bros. 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards Post-Party on Sunday (January 6) in Beverly Hills, California, was the most attended party last night, so strap in for the 41 looks.

Rowan Blanchard: There are many of you who haven’t been able to get on board with Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2019 ruffles. This crinkle organza multi layer dress was a tall order for the petite star, but with her new pixie hair, Buccellati jewels and confident attitude, she pulls this off for me, even though I’m not fan of her Roger Vivier sandals.

Kiki Layne: The ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ actress swapped her Dior for Valentino, wearing sparkling tiered whimsy dress from the Spring 2019 collection. This is another dress which may see you divided, but I think she carries if off with great aplomb.

2019 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 Golden Globe Awards

As you know we always do a final sweep of the red carpet before we close an event. Here are the gorgeous ladies we just had to feature from the 2019 Golden Globe Awards.

Olivia Colman: Grossly underrated, the British actress collected her Best Actress – Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for ‘The Favorite’ wearing Stella McCartney. Her split sleeves dress isn’t groundbreaking, but it was perfectly suited to her laidback, no-fuss style, with a touch of embellishment to mark the glamorous occasion. David Morris jewelry completed her look.

Marina de Tavira: The ‘Roma’ star stays firmly on my one-to-watch list with this gorgeous iridescent Vivienne Westwood Couture gown. I’m not sure this one will go down well with the majority thanks to the sheerness of the skirt, but this gets a thumbs up from me. Irene Neuwirth jewels completed her look.

Laura Dern In Valentino – 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Laura Dern In Valentino - 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Nominated for her work in ‘The Tale,’ Laura Dern was also at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 6) in Beverly Hills, California.

This Valentino Pre-Fall 2019 semi-sheer gown in classic red felt less contrived than some of her other recent looks.

So, for that reason, I will put it in a much-improved category.

However, there was still something that didn’t quite jive. What say you?

Lady Gaga In Valentino Haute Couture – 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Lady Gaga In Valentino Haute Couture - 2019 Golden Globe Awards

It’s a big night for Lady Gaga at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, given her well-esteemed work in ‘A Star Is Born.’

As the singer-actress is never one to step quietly, she had a go-big moment in a Valentino Fall 2018 Haute Couture gown that swept me off my feet.

The impossibly long dress with its billowy sleeves was a romantic dream that took over the red carpet — and, later, the awards stage. I actually prefer Lady Gaga’s version to the original runway design.

Despite its dramatic proportions, the dress still boasted an enticing softness on behalf of its light lavender hue completed by her platinum updo and that sparkling, diamond Tiffany & Co. necklace.

Gemma Chan In Valentino Haute Couture – 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Gemma Chan joined her ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ costar Constance Wu at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 6).

The British beauty embraced the evening’s bow trend in Valentino Fall 2018 Haute Couture.

There were still many other interesting details with the rich blue style courtesy of its twists and gathers. The voluminous silhouette has a different finish for someone who often chooses feminine polished pieces. But, there’s still an elegance about it, with the fabric being arranged just so.

The open skirt revealed her coordinating Louboutin shoes.

Regina King In Valentino – 2019 AFI Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Regina King In Valentino - 2019 AFI Awards

Regina King wore her second Valentino outfit (and third overall) in two days, for the 2019 AFI Awards today (January 4) in California.

I wasn’t at all mad about the autumnal hues of her Valentino Spring 2019 look – we are in the Fall season after-all – but I did find myself not loving the choice of boots.

Yes, tan boots wouldn’t have worked either. I’m thinking more along the lines of Malone Souliers ‘Mika’ sandals.

Thoughts?
