The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party Red Carpet Roundup
It was a jam-packed red carpet at The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party on Saturday (January 5) in Los Angeles, California, with 18 more more ladies joining Thandie Newton, Emma Stone, Kiki Layne, Gemma Chan and Laura Harrier.
Emily Blunt: I was at first swept away by the beautiful Oscar de la Renta Pre Fall 2019 tulle polka dot dress, then I fell more in love with this look when I got to the yellow sandals.
Rachel Brosnahan: The colour of this weekend for Rachel was yellow. You were slightly underwhelmed by her Golden Globes offering, so how does this Christian Siriano Spring 2019 embellished sheath fare? The look was beautifully styled with yellow and gold Malone Souliers ‘Maureen’ pumps.
Rosamund Pike: It looks like the Pike x Givenchy union has a lot more to offer, and you’ll find me complaining following her Golden Globes outing and this flouncy Spring 2019 asymmetric dress. The only thing missing from this union is some colour every once in a while, as I’m worried this might hit a Rooney Mara “always black” brick wall. Pierre Hardy ‘Gena’ sandals completed her look.
Lupita Nyong’o: The ‘Black Panther’ actress carried a Pop & Suki ‘Lolita’ bag with her tea-party appropriate Jonathan Cohen Spring 2019 tweed frock. The white bag left me wishing she’d opted for a cute pair of sandals though.
Jodie Comer: The ‘Killing Eve’ British actress wore an floral jumpsuit from the Erdem Pre-Fall 2019 collection. You didn’t love Olivia Wilde’s flared suit from the same collection, but I have a feeling this look will be viewed more favourably.
Glenn Close: The Golden Globe winner is no stranger to suiting options. I love the Sies Marjan Spring 2019 eggplant suit and frilly blouse, but the Tyler Ellis velvet clutch feels out of place here.
Elsie Fisher: I love that Elsie knows her style, and is having so much fun with it. Signature looks can grow tired quickly, but there isn’t a suiting option or colour that hasn’t worked for her. Long may this run continue.
Patricia Clarkson: I feel Patty is going to have an amazing awards season. The actress was radiant once again in yellow wearing Paule Ka. A green Ethan K top-handle and gold Giuseppe Zanotti pumps enhanced the lady-like flair.
Regina King: Dressed in Zac Posen, I’m once again wishing for a different shoe. Stuart Weitzman metallic lamé Nudist sandals would’ve been a better shout than those black Nicholas Kirkwood pumps.
Danai Gurira: Crochet dresses can tend to look a little old fashioned, but this Oscar de la Renta Spring 2019 dress looks anything but on Danai.
Linda Cardellini: Ruffle dresses are slowly becoming Linda’s thing, as demonstrated in this Jenny Packham Spring 2019 mini styled with Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Ellie’ gold sandals.
Amy Adams: Simple and chic once again, Amy wore an Emilia Wickstead Pre-Fall 2019 dress styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Uptown’ nude pumps.
Rachel Weisz: I like the colour and embellished detailing on this Prada emerald dress, but I can’t put my finger on why I don’t love this look.
Yalitza Aparicio: I know why I don’t like Yalitza in this Mulberry Spring 2019 look, and that’s because it stumptifies her. A rare miss for the ‘Roma’ star. The look was styled with Schutz shoes.
Claire Foy: The British actress was channeling her inner Gatsby-babe in Altuzarra’s Spring 2019 metallic, silk jacquard dress.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge: The feathered blouse really gave this Tory Burch Resort 2019 looks so much life.
Kathryn Hahn: The dress may come across as a old-fashioned nightie for some, but I do love the edge her Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Casati Pearl Derby shoes gives this look.
Marina De Tavira: The ‘Roma’ stars love for colour was again evident in this Badgley Mischka Pre-Fall 2019 dress.
