‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ DC Premiere

'If Beale Street Could Talk' DC Premiere

As someone who loves colour co-ordination, I was excited about the red carpet looks served up at the National Air and Space Museum on Saturday (October 27) in Washington, DC for the ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ premiere.

KiKi Layne: The new girl on the block continues to showcase her sartorial style with oodles of charming grace; this time wearing Prada. Chiming with the sweetly feminine feel and finish her pale pink silk-chiffon pleated dress that swings from the waist, she style the look with gold sandals.

Stephan James: The handsome actor may have been wearing the label Grayscale, but there was nothing dull about this pumpkin hued suit. I love the look, right down to the two-tone shoes. It’s a risk which paid off, but I’m curious how this look would’ve panned out had he opted for a tie in the same print as his pocket square.

Regina King: The actress rounded out this co-ordinated trio in an orange Alberta Ferretti gown with a decadent train. I love how this film has thrust her back into the spotlight, as I have always admired her style. She will take a risk from time to time, but on this occasion the mood was simple and elegant.

Variety’s Power Of Women: Los Angeles

Variety’s Power Of Women Los Angeles

Variety’s Power of Women event saw many more celebrities join Natalie Portman and Thandie Newton in Los Angeles on Friday (October 12).

Regina King: The actress put the capital ‘P’ in power suit when she donned this hot-pink Oscar De La Renta suit styled with Nicholas Kirkwood ‘VV’ pumps and jewels from EF Collection and Melinda Maria.

Gina Rodriguez: I love the alluring detailing of this Rasario trend-focused print dress; dotted with playful black polka-dots set against a white background for a truly fresh look. Alexis Bittar jewels and white pumps completed her look.

Olivia Culpo: The model made fuchsia her go-to colour for the evening matching her Sally LaPointe Spring 2019 sequin embroidered blazer dress to her Saint Laurent ‘Lou Lou’ bag and pointy pumps. At times Olivia’s style is perceived as a little bit too contrived, but on this occasion everything is very complementary.

‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ New York Film Festival Premiere

‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ New York Film Festival Premiere

KiKi Layne was joined on the red carpet by Regina King and Teyonah Parris for the New York Film Festival premiere of ‘If Beale Street Could Talk,’ on Tuesday (October 9).

Regina King: The actress wore a Michael Kors Collection dress with an elegantly structured cut, that spotlights a black and white floral print for the Fall 2018 season. I adore the classically feminine shape, and the effortless styling which included Nicholas Kirkwood ‘VV’ pumps and Chopard jewels.

Teyonah Parris: We know Teyonah for her love of ‘go big’ gowns, but on this occasion she opted for a more refined silhouette in this vintage Yves Saint Laurent pink dress which was oozing glamour. I was a little disappointed by the black clutch with this look.

Regina King In Christian Siriano – 2018 Emmy Awards

Regina King In Christian Siriano - 2018 Emmy Awards

Regina King was another beauty in Christian Siriano at the 2018 Emmy Awards on Monday (September 17). Angela Sarafyan also supported the designer.

The Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie nominee was dressed for the occasion in a custom gown in a colour inspired by Christian’s Spring 2019 collection. The chartreuse shade against her complexion is superb with the Irene Neuwirth Jewelry enhancing the effect.

Even with the rounded neckline there is a powerful strength to the ensemble and it perfectly captures her essence.

‘The Hate U Give’ Toronto International Film Festival Premiere

'The Hate U Give' Toronto International Film Festival Premiere

There were a number of stars showing the love for ‘The Hate U Give’ premiere on Friday (September 7) during the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.

Amandla Stenberg: As the starlet’s style continues to be totally unpredictable, she switched it up again with this Gucci Pre-Fall 2018 gown that was a mash-up of boho-girly floral layers with sultry corset styling. She was swimming in chiffon at the bottom, but I still love how she’s crossing the spectrum and having so much fun with fashion.

Algee Smith: I think it’s safe to say that Algee pulls off this experimental Louis Vuitton Spring 2019 look — and it’s an ‘a’ for effort, regardless. I could have done without the chain necklace.

Television Academy’s Performers Peer Group Celebration

Television Academy's Performers Peer Group Celebration

The Television Academy’s Performers Peer Group celebration was held on Monday (August 20) in Los Angeles, California.

Regina King: Always on hand to brighten up the red carpet, the actress wore a signature Missoni striped dress with metallic threads to temper the sheer fit which evoked a retro mood. The look was styled with Nicholas Kirkwood shoes.

Darren Criss: It would appear that the menswear cropped trousers trend is here to stay for the foreseeable future. Darren’s Cos look has many elements: denim blazer, printed shirt and black trousers, yet it doesn’t feel at all disjointed.

Sarah Drew: The ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ actress sure does love a dress with a criss-cross bodice. On this occasion in Leilou by Alex the mood felt even sexier with the peekaboo lace and flame-red lip. APM Monaco jewels completed her look.
