Lady Gaga In Ralph Lauren – National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Lady Gaga In Ralph Lauren - National Board Of Review Annual Awards Gala

Those of you wishing for Lady Gaga to tone down her makeup, were not going to get their wish granted at The National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala which was held in New York on Tuesday (January 8).

The actress-singer was channelling old Hollywood glamour in her custom Ralph Lauren tuxedo-inspired halter gown embellished with more than 23,000 jet crystals, styled with a hand painted gold and black feather cape from the Fall 2012 collection and Messika Jewelry.

I love that this is so dramatic in standard Gaga fashion, but so far, 2019 Lady Gaga isn’t slaying my life like 2018 Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga accepted the National Board of Review award for Best Actress for her performance in ‘A Star is Born’ on the night.

The overdone hair and makeup just take looks down. So do tats.
The dress is whatever. The shoes are dull. I like the feather cape but it should of been on at least.
But whatever, theres too many issues with this look anyways

I would have loved to have seen the cape on her, but I still like it.

To me, there is something really off-putting about her hair color.
Every time that I see it, I think how fake it looks.
Perhaps because the eyebrows are so dark, or the shade of blonde isn’t flattering. I can’t put my finger on it, but something never looks right.

Beyond that, I love this dress, feather cape and all…perhaps on someone else.

feather cape was completely unnecessary, the dress is fierece enough, and her makeup is frowned-upon,it’s slowly stepping into Drag territory. wish her makeup artist would go easy on the airbrush

The cape as clutch just isn’t working but everything else is

I’ve always been a fan but… when did she become so stiff and stale?

Love it. I hope she know she doesn’t need to dress like she belongs with movie stars- she is a movie star now.

I too wish she had worn the cape over shoulders as on the runway.

Her tats ruin everything. I love it on the model and would love to see Cate Blanchett wear this.

Why bother with the cape if she was just gonna carry it around? She’s Gaga she definitely could pull it off. Otherwise I like it, even more than her GG look actually.

I would have loved this on some other occasion. Here it’s just extra.

That’s a shame she’s carrying that weird, cheap-looking pompom in her hand, it ruined the look for me – it’s costumey enough itself with that theatrical hairstyle and typical Gaga makeup.

    I love the dress!
It works on her with the feather cape in hand, but I wish I could see it on someone like Cate Blanchett or Sarah Paulson with the cape on her shoulders.
