Lupita Nyongo’o In MSGM – Variety ‘Black Panther’ New York Screening

Lupita Nyongo'o In MSGM - Variety 'Black Panther' Screening

A year on, and Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan are still attending screenings for ‘Black Panther.’ At this point, they’ve probably seen it more times than I have.

Not that I’m complaining, as this gives me yet another opportunity to marvel at Lupita Nyong’o’s style.

Lupita Nyong’o: Foil and florals. It’s not an expected combination, but this MSGM Fall 2018 two-piece surprisingly works plus it perfectly encapsulates the collection’s preoccupation with clashing prints and textures. Lupita’s style statement continued to her metallic silver Stuart Weitzman Jerry plaforms. Is this a look you can get on board with? It’s a lot to take in.

Lupita Nyong’o Dazzles in Bold Electric Blue Beauty Look at 2019 Golden Globes

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Lupita Nyong'o Dazzles in Bold Electric Blue Beauty Look at 2019 Golden Globes

‘Black Panther’ star Lupita Nyong’o consistently wows us with her excellent red carpet style and this year’s Golden Globes look was no exception. While her shimmering Calvin Klein by Appointment dress dazzled, it was her stunning blue beauty look that really captured audiences. Created by celeb makeup artist Nick Barose, the bold makeup look was all about modernizing the popular 80s tone and vibe while remaining fun.

“It’s fun to wear colors and you do it in small doses with liner and lashes without having it be the color on the whole eyelid,” says Nick. Paring contrasting colors on the eyes and lips, here’s how Nick achieved this playful beauty look with Lancôme:

SKIN: With such bold eyes, Nick wanted Lupita’s skin to be fresh and glowing. He achieved a radiant glow by infusing the skin with the extra moisturizing Lancôme Advanced Génifique Hydrogel Melting Sheet Mask. Allowing the mask to work its magic for a few extra moments really allows the skin draw out a natural luminous finish. Nick then moved on to prep the undereye area. Using Lancôme Advanced Genifique Eye Light Pearl, Nick massaged the luminating concentrate along the eye contour which instantly gives a more rested appearance and texture. Following the mask, Nick blotted off any lingering product and applied a bit of Lancôme Absolue Revitalizing & Brightening Soft Cream onto the face and pulled the product down to the neck.

The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party Red Carpet Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party

It was a jam-packed red carpet at The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party on Saturday (January 5) in Los Angeles, California, with 18 more more ladies joining Thandie Newton,  Emma StoneKiki LayneGemma Chan and Laura Harrier.

Emily Blunt: I was at first swept away by the beautiful Oscar de la Renta Pre Fall 2019 tulle polka dot dress, then I fell more in love with this look when I got to the yellow sandals.

Rachel Brosnahan: The colour of this weekend for Rachel was yellow. You were slightly underwhelmed by her Golden Globes offering, so how does this Christian Siriano Spring 2019 embellished sheath fare? The look was beautifully styled with yellow and gold Malone Souliers ‘Maureen’ pumps.

Rosamund Pike: It looks like the Pike x Givenchy union has a lot more to offer, and you’ll find me complaining following her Golden Globes outing and this flouncy Spring 2019 asymmetric dress. The only thing missing from this union is some colour every once in a while, as I’m worried this might hit a Rooney Mara “always black” brick wall. Pierre Hardy ‘Gena’ sandals completed her look.

Lupita Nyong’o In Calvin Klein by Appointment – 2019 Golden Globe Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Lupita Nyong’o In Calvin Klein - 2019 Golden Globe Awards

I am always enthralled when Lupita Nyong’o indulges her love of vibrant hues. So, I was delighted to see the ‘Black Panther’ actress doing just that at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 6) in Beverly Hills, California.

This royal-purple Calvin Klein by Appointment column gown was precisely that: royal.

The shimmy of the all-over metal fringe was such a smart way to add the scintillation of embellishment without resorting to the standard sequin.

And, as per usual, she wore the look from head to toe by echoing the ultraviolet shade in her mascara and eye makeup.

MoMA Contenders ‘Black Panther’ Screening

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features MoMA Contenders 'Black Panther' Screening

The ‘Black Panther’ promo tour may have started back in January, but Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, and Angela Bassett were still in promo mode when they attended the MoMA Contenders Screening and Q&A held at Hammer Museum on Tuesday (December 4) in Los Angeles, California.

Chadwick Boseman: We expect swirly paisley prints from Etro, so you may be surprised to learn that Chadwick’s Etro tunic hails from brands Spring 2018 collection. I love that burnt orange colour. Those of you who have been to Africa will recall that this is the colour of the earth, so it this look – styled with contemporary cargo pants and sneakers – was the perfect choice for this screening.

Lupita Nyong’o: The Kenya actress’ look didn’t pay homage to Africa, but this Alessandra Rich Spring 2019 polka dot dress did showcase her flare for colour and pretty feminine frocks. When it comes to the shoes, we’ve learned to accept that simple works best for Lupita.

Angela Bassett: As always, auntie was looking super chic, and extra fly wearing a peach velvet suit from Paule Ka. You know how I feel about velvet, so I was drooling over this three-piece decadent look. Angela likes to take a risk now and then, which have mixed results, but on this occasion she was elegance personified.

‘Black Panther’ Screening & Conversation

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature the 'Black Panther' Screening & Conversation

Scarlett Johansson hosted a special screening and discussion for ‘Black Panther’ on Saturday (December 8) in New York City.

Ruth E. Carter: I’m sure you don’t need for me to tell you that Ruth was the costume designer for this film. This colourful, pattern play dress embodies the rich colours and textures we saw in the film.

Lupita Nyong’o: I was happy to see the actress back on top form in Versace. This minty two-piece Spring 2019 look is divine against her skin tone, plus I really enjoying her extra pop of colour from the orange SJP pumps. The best thing here is how the look elongates her petite frame.

Danai Gurira: Providing a distinctly modern take on animal prints, the actress wore a Victoria Beckham Resort 2019 dress patterned with a digitally designed cow hide design. I love how the boots ground this look, unlike the lookbook matching boots, which would’ve been a step too far.

Hannah Beachler: The film production designer wore two simple staples, but the fringed overlay takes this look to another level.

Scarlett Johansson: As the host, the Marvel star kept a low profile in navy and black.

Lupita Nyong’o In Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture – The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 Women In Entertainment

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature the Lupita Nyong'o In Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture - The Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 Women In Entertainment

The one place I expected to see power suits, was on the red carpet at The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 Women In Entertainment on Wednesday (December 5) in Los Angeles, California, and Lupita Nyong’o didn’t let me down.

Dressed in a Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2018 Haute Couture suit, which was much improved on her previous outing, the ‘Black Panther’ actress showcased a gorgeous pinstripe design which was almost like a sculpture in its beauty, allure and flawless craftsmanship.

While JPG designs can be a bit out there at times, this draws on his traditions of glamour with a toughened elegance that feels modern in every way.

Nine West ‘Soho’ pumps completed her look.
