The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party Red Carpet Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party

It was a jam-packed red carpet at The BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party on Saturday (January 5) in Los Angeles, California, with 18 more more ladies joining Thandie Newton,  Emma StoneKiki LayneGemma Chan and Laura Harrier.

Emily Blunt: I was at first swept away by the beautiful Oscar de la Renta Pre Fall 2019 tulle polka dot dress, then I fell more in love with this look when I got to the yellow sandals.

Rachel Brosnahan: The colour of this weekend for Rachel was yellow. You were slightly underwhelmed by her Golden Globes offering, so how does this Christian Siriano Spring 2019 embellished sheath fare? The look was beautifully styled with yellow and gold Malone Souliers ‘Maureen’ pumps.

Rosamund Pike: It looks like the Pike x Givenchy union has a lot more to offer, and you’ll find me complaining following her Golden Globes outing and this flouncy Spring 2019 asymmetric dress. The only thing missing from this union is some colour every once in a while, as I’m worried this might hit a Rooney Mara “always black” brick wall. Pierre Hardy ‘Gena’ sandals completed her look.

12th Annual CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature the 12th Annual CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute

The 12th Annual CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute took place on Sunday (December 9) in New York City, with a host of stars taking to the red carpet.

Danai Gurira: Following the latest screening of ‘Black Panther, Danai was back on the red carpet this weekend wearing a dainty ruffle accented dress from Sies Marjan. The colour is…amazing. I love how she mixing things up. You never know what she will serve up next.

Uzo Aduba: At the moment Uzo is having a glorious time on the red carpet. The less is more approach is really working in her favour. This Brandon Maxwell off-the-shoulder dress provides the perfect balance of chic and sexy. A Roger Vivier clutch and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals complete her look.

Cynthia Erivo: The actress certainly has the chops to pull of this fashion-forward Thom Browne Fall 2018 look that has a touch of body armor and ’50s inspiration thanks to the structured hips. Malone Souliers ‘Marguerite’ pumps completed her look.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 Women In Entertainment

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature The Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 Women In Entertainment

Lupita Nyong’o was joined on the red carpet for The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 Women In Entertainment event on Wednesday (December 5) in Los Angeles, California, by a host of lovely ladies.

Amandla Stenberg: The young actress continues to have fun with fashion. This time she wore a Sies Marjan Fall 2018 striped suit which was oversized, but not outsized. The pretty pink hue ensured a feminine vibe.

Danai Gurira: The actress is back to wearing bold colour, and I couldn’t be happier. While I love the draping of this Poiret Spring 2019 dress, I prefer how this dress was presented on the runway.

Awkwafina: I surprised that even with this cheery bug-print MSGM top and skirt that the actress still can’t raise a smile.

SAG-AFTRA Foundation

SAG-AFTRA Foundation

The SAG-AFTRA Foundation events on Thursday (November 8) Friday (November 9) in New York City brought out a myriad of chic looks.

Rachel Weisz: The new mum looked effortless in Altuzarra Resort 2019 at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations: ‘The Favourite’ event with the strappy sandals echoing the dress’s textured fabric.

Felicity Jones: The British beauty went retro in Sies Marjan Spring 2019 for the ‘On The Basis Of Sex’ conversation event. This is her second look from this collection and I’m curious how this one will be received because the pink number is very different from her previous power suit.

Felicity Jones In Sies Marjan – TheWrap’s Power Women Summit

Felicity Jones In Sies Marjan - TheWrap's Power Women Summit

Felicity Jones attended TheWrap’s Power Women Summit on Thursday (November 01) in Los Angeles, California.

I couldn’t think of a better place to give birth to the power skirt suit trend.

Synonymous with 80s career women and status, the skirt suit this season is discovering life outside the boardroom thanks to Sies Marjan.

We’ve seen all manner of suits from sleek to slouchy in recent months.

I’m just glad to see the return of tailoring, with smartness sneaking back into fashion behind the top-line trends of streetwear.

Amandla Stenberg In Prada, Calvin Klein & Sies Marjan – ‘The Hate U Give’ Hamptons Film Festival & Mill Valley Film Festival

Amandla Stenberg In Prada - Hamptons International Film Festival 2018

Amandla Stenberg continued promoting her latest film, ‘The Hate U Give,’ during Hamptons Film Festival and Mill Valley Film Festival this weekend, and as you would expect, none of her three looks failed to court intrigue.

Hamptons International Film Festival: Intriguing is very much the first word that springs to mind when I saw Amandla in this Prada Spring 2019 look. But I’m feeling that this look is almost too saccharine for her despite its edgy appeal.  Plus the leather overlay isn’t that flattering here.

Laura Harrier, Julia Garner & Lineisy Montero In Sies Marjan – 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards

Sander Lak of Sies Marjan was honoured with the 2018 Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent at the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 4) held at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City.

The event saw Laura Harrier, Julia Garner and Lineisy Montero don pieces from the designers Fall 2018 collection.

Laura Harrier: Sies Marjan is all about uplifting colour palettes, something that is easy to spot in Laura’s Fall 2018 look which has distinct summery vibe to it. Slouchy separates unite to create yet another chic look for Laura. I really appreciate the punchy yellow Sies Marjan ‘Remi’ croc mules here.

Julia Garner: There was a moodier vibe in Julia’s colour palette, yet I was thoroughly entranced by her faux fur degradé dress styled with Sies Marjan ‘Remi’ croc mules.

Lineisy Montero: A feminine feel was very much apparent in this dual colour dress thanks to the poetic design and tulle overlay. The model styled her look with Sies Marjan ‘Dena’ mules.

Kelela In Christopher Kane & Sies Marjan – 2018 CFDA/Swarovski Award Emerging Talent Cocktail Party & 70th Annual Parsons Benefit

Kelela put a fashionable foot forward at the 2018 CFDA/Swarovski Award Emerging Talent Cocktail Party on Wednesday (May 16) in New York City and at the Parsons Benefit on Monday (May 21).

2018 CFDA/Swarovski Award Emerging Talent Cocktail Party: The singer frequently wears tones of black and white and this Christopher Kane Spring 2018 dress presents such a dynamic mix with the white eyelet and inky black. Even though it’s festooned with ruffles, the dark fabric adds toughness along with the black boots. The black bra and white pants take away from the strong finish.

70th Parsons Benefit: She looked ready to party in a metallic Sies Marjan Spring 2018 suit and coordinating shoes. The rich metallic is gorgeous with her skin tone, but I feel some will take issue with the crinkled finish. While coordinated, the shoes don’t have the same impact as the runway version. Did you miss the belt?

Models @ 2018 Met Gala

Naturally, the models were out in force for the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City. Here’s what these ‘heavenly bodies’ had on.

Ashley Graham: Channeling a bronzed goddess moment, the model donned an Atelier Prabal Gurung sequin-encrusted gown that introduced a dramatic, Met-ready sensibility with the long, satin-edged cape. The leg jut was put to work, with Taski jewels and Giuseppe Zanotti sandals completing the look.

Bella Hadid: I’m sure many will be raising their hands in praise that Bella opted for something a bit more covered than her naked bodysuit from last year’s Met Gala. This custom Chrome Hearts x Gareth Pugh design riffed on sinner and saint with the dark glamour of the latex corset and sculptural, villainous cape and fingerless gloves. This would have been all bad-girl were it not for the cross necklace and cross-embroidered veil that trailed behind her.

Martha Hunt In Sies Marjan – Good Day New York

Martha Hunt was spotted leaving a studio on the Upper East Side in New York following her guest appearance on ‘Good Day New York’ on Thursday (March 8).

The model wore a Sies Marjan Spring 2018 two piece look featuring a permanently tucked sweater with a chic tiered designed skirt in a bright coral eye-catching hue.

With temperatures plummeting this is the perfect way to incorporate some spring flavour into your wardrobe, while still dressing for the current season.

In a few weeks she’ll be able to swap that sweater for a cami and those Stuart Weitzman cocoa leather ‘Tubo’ boots for some sandals.
