2019 BAFTAs Menswear Roundup

2019 BAFTAs Menswear Roundup

We cannot forget about the men’s striking looks at the 2019 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 10) in London, England.

Timothee Chalamet: Ever the fashion darling, I expected nothing less than for the ‘Beautiful Boy’ actor to make a statement. The clashing patterns and cropped trousers of his Haider Ackermann Fall 2019 look was fun-meets-punk.

Mahershala Ali: The ‘Green Book’ actor looked suave in Tom Ford. The textured brocade made the classic monochromatic colours something special.

Lakeith Stanfield: Outfitted in Saint Laurent, the Rising Star nominee demonstrated his sartorial skills. The black velvet shoes with plush jacket bring things together without becoming too matchy-matchy.

Laura Harrier In Louis Vuitton – 2019 BAFTAs

Laura Harrier In Louis Vuitton - 2019 BAFTAs

Laura Harrier brought a bohemian spirit to the 2019 BAFTA Awards this evening (February 10) in London, England.

Predictably, she was in Louis Vuitton. But, the Pre-Fall 2019 dress had a flowing 1970s aura that was a departure from the modern shapes we often see from the brand.

Those who love the ‘BlacKkKlansman’ actress in colour will likely approve of this creamsicle orange. It plays off her complexion wonderfully and tempers the sass of the gaping keyhole neckline.

Aquazzura sandals completed her look.

2019 Roc Nation THE BRUNCH

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 Roc Nation THE BRUNCH

There were many more stars who joined Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z at the 2019 Roc Nation THE BRUNCH event on Saturday (February 9) in Los Angeles, California.

Pusha T: The rapper joined Jay-Z by rocking at light blue suit. You should recognise this Alexander McQueen look, as it was first worn by Timothée Chalamet during the San Sebastian Film Festival back in September. Like Timothée, Pusha T also opted for sneakers.

Janelle Monáe: Mixing colour via Emanuel Ungaro, with her signature black and white, the actress proves that pigeonholing her style-wise isn’t a smart move.

‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Los Angeles Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ New York Premiere

The ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday (February 5) had a range of looks to discuss.

Dua Lipa: She dialed up the drama in a highly embellished Prada gown. The mix of sequins and beads is sublime, but the low back might actually be my favourite detail. I foresee the chunky platforms being divisive.

2019 Winter TCA Tour

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour

FX’s segment of the 2019 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour took place at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena on Monday (February 4) in Pasadena, California, with Michelle Williams promoting ‘Fosse/Verdon,’ and Aubrey Plaza promoting ‘Legion’.

Michelle Williams: If you’re surprised to learn that Michelle is wearing Louis Vuitton, welcome to RCFA. The actress wore a mixed animal print look from the Pre-Fall 2019 collection. I love this playful choice from the flattering silhouette to the styling with ankle boots to give the look an edge.

Lady Gaga In Louis Vuitton – 2019 Oscars Nominees Luncheon

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Lady Gaga In Louis Vuitton - 2019 Oscars Nominees Luncheon

In advance of the Oscars coming up later this month, Lady Gaga was at 91st Oscars Nominees Luncheon on Monday (February 4) in Beverly Hills, California.

Continuing her white streak, she donned a custom Louis Vuitton Spring 2019 look that was nothing if not buttoned up — literally.

This was most certainly a conservative look by any standards, and most especially Lady Gaga’s. But with its modern twist on structured Victorian sensibility, there was an underlying classic romance that also defined the dress.

I have a feeling that her custom Giuseppe Zanotti heels may have been platforms if for no other reason than to accommodate the sweeping skirt.

Did you like this pristine yet prim quality?

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ World Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon Features Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton - ‘Alita Battle Angel’ World Premiere

There is nothing more certain in life than Jennifer Connelly wearing Louis Vuitton.

The actress didn’t use the ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ world premiere on Thursday (January 31), to change a habit of a lifetime.

While this silhouette is quite common Louis Vuitton, I feel it really comes alive with lattice detailing which is accented with tonal sequins.

I’m not usually a fan of black accessories with white dresses, but on this occasion the LV accessories – which included a custom clutch bag – matched the mood of the look.

2019 SAG Awards Menswear Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 SAG Awards Menswear

Here’s a look at the handsome fellas at the 2019 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 27) in LA.

Mahershala Ali: The ‘Green Book’ outstanding supporting actor winner cut a suave profile in this riff on an aubergine tuxedo by Ermenegildo Zegna XXX with the brocade effect adding a layer of richness to the ensemble. I like the relaxed elegance of his Bruno Magli smoking slippers and the white bow tie for its crisp, clean finish.

Henry Golding: The Midas touch was definitely rubbing off on the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ actor, who lived up to his last name with this gold jacket. Opting out of a tie was the right move here, as the Tom Ford ensemble doesn’t seem try-hard even with its metallic sheen.

Chadwick Boseman: The ‘Black Panther’ star continues to impress, as this fancy Ermenegildo Zegna XXX jacket in a leafy tribal pattern styled with the series of lapel pins did the trick — no tie required. Christian Louboutin shoes completed the look.

Emma Stone In Louis Vuitton – 2019 SAG Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Emma Stone In Louis Vuitton - 2019 SAG Awards

Maniac’ nominee Emma Stone opted to trade the tulle for trousers at the 2019 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 27) in LA.

This custom Louis Vuitton look had more ‘wow’ factor than her nude moment at the 2019 Golden Globes — and the slightly more relaxed Screen Actors Guild evening was the perfect opportunity to break out the pants.

I like how the deconstructed, Victorian top was counterbalanced by the high-waist tailoring for a forward-thinking femininity.

LV heels and jewels along with radiantly simple hair and makeup completed the picture.

‘After the Wedding’ Sundance Film Festival Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 'After the Wedding' Sundance Film Festival Premiere

Michelle Williams and Julianne Moore hit the ‘After the Wedding’ Sundance Film Festival premiere on Friday (January 25) in Park City, Utah.

Michelle Williams: The bohemian spirit of her Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2019 gown was a departure from the more whimsical and graphic styles one associates with her. The lurid colours and the flowing maxi shape might be a hard sell given the event.

Boucheron Paris Fashion Week Dinner

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features oucheron Dinner

It looks like Gong Li didn’t get the all black memo for the Boucheron dinner during Paris Fashion Week on Sunday (January 20).

Uma Thurman: This is the kinda all black look I can get on board with. From the Prada pailette covered dress, to the chic way this she accessorized it, I’m fully on-board with this from head to toe.

Lea Seydoux: By complete contrast, I as less enthused by Lea’s Louis Vuitton offering. Even the jewels can’t take this to another level.

Coco Rocha: Christian Siriano is always about super sleek silhouettes. This jumpsuit is made all the more appealing with its ’70s-style fringes and sequins detailing.

Emma Stone In Louis Vuitton – 2019 Producers Guild Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Emma Stone In Louis Vuitton - 2019 Producers Guild Awards

Emma Stone was back on the red carpet for the 2019 Producers Guild Awards on Saturday (January 19) in Beverly Hills, California.

You’ll be forgiven if you thought this was Michelle Monaghan, as Emma was showcasing darker locks for the occasion.

Dressed in a yellow Louis Vuitton custom Pre-Fall 2019 yellow dress, I can’t help but feel like this dress was made with her strawberry blonde hair colour in mind.
