2018 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Roundup

2018 Emmys

There were many more stars in the 2018 Emmy Awards constellation on Monday (September 17) in LA.

Madelaine Petsch: The starlet complemented her cascade of auburn waves with a Prada gown that furtively cloaked a shiny embroidered skirt under cloudy tulle layers.

Tatiana Maslany: This Christian Siriano design was inspired by the Spring 2019 collection, with the highlighter-yellow front train delivering all the sass you could possibly want. Christian Louboutin heels and EF Collection jewels completed the neon-bright entrance.

2018 Emmy awards

Katja Herbers: The tonal patchwork, embossed effect of this Galvan column gown created some visual interest to the all-white look.

Letitia Wright: To go with the delicate layers of her custom Pamella Roland dress, Letitia wore Brumani and Djula jewels.

Nina Kiri: The front slit of this Markarian Resort 2019 gown added a seductive note to the loose prairie-girl-meets-glam style with a L’Dezen by Payal Shah diamond ring to finish the look.

2018 Emmy Awards

Sydney Sweeney: This blush-pink Reem Acra floral-embroidered gown was a princess gown gone sexy.

Judith Light: I loved seeing Judith as a ray of sunny light in this sleek yellow Christian Siriano Spring 2018 gown with Chopard jewels that proved how ageless she really is.

2018 Emmy Awards

Amanda Brugel: I’m not sure the exaggerated tulle proportions of this Naeem Khan dress did Amanda many favours. She styled the frock with Casadel shoes.

Sydelle Noel: The sinewy detailing of this Antonio Grimaldi Couture design added an aura of intrigue to the sleek mesh column gown.

Amanda Crew: Even if the shine factor of this Rasario Pre-Fall 2018 silver suit and blue tube top might have been better suited to the Grammys, I still loved the panache of it all with Sam Edelman shoes and Sylva & Cie jewels serving as her accessories.

Kate McKinnon: The minimalist vibe was strong in this Alexander Wang column gown that was enhanced by the silver shaping at the waist.

Alison Brie:
Also in a lemony-yellow look like Judith, Alison’s Miu Miu gown relied on side cutouts and a front slit for its sultry appeal.

Padma Lakshmi: This coral-red J. Mendel fit-and-flow plisse gown was right in Padma’s classically seductive wheelhouse. She styled the siren look with Ofira Jewelz jewelry and Stuart Weitzman sandals.

Sadie Sink: I will be the first to admit that the dimensional shoulders were a bit aggressive here. But, the custom Hiraeth dress still had a precious charm about it with Repossi jewels to add a bit of sparkle.

Betty Gilpin: Given that this was a custom Vera Wang dress, I would have expected the fit to be a bit more precise.

Samira Wiley: Samira brought the party with her glitzy Jenny Packham Fall 2018 gown that still felt sophisticated due to the sleek styling and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

2018 Emmy Awards

Amanda Peet: What struck me most about this look was not the laidback romance of this forest-green Michael Kors Collection Fall 2018 gown or the Fred Leighton jewels, but how the handbag seemed a bit oversized at her side.

Sara Bareilles: The cobalt colour of this ADEAM gown was stunning. So, I wish the fit and form had lived up to its standards. Nicholas Kirkwood shoes and Gismondi jewels completed the ensemble.

Alison Sudol: Satin is already challenging with its precarious creases and unforgiving sheen, but white satin — as in this Nina Ricci Fall 2018 gown — is all the more so and the struggle showed here. The dark pumps and Roger Vivier clutch did nothing to help matters.

2018 Emmy Awards

Chrissy Metz: I like that the ‘This Is Us’ actress spiked this custom John Paul Ataker emerald-green dress with purple Stuart Weitzman sandals along with Maxior & Anabela Chan jewels.

Gwendoline Christie: Shades of yellow really had their moment in the sun with this group. But, the unavoidable creases and bat wings of this dressing-gown look dampened the effect.

2018 Emmy Awards

Yvonne Strahovski: Even the relaxed elegance of this all-black, embossed gown couldn’t hide Yvonne’s adorably burgeoning baby bump.

Sarah Silverman: Relying on the dramatic power of tulle, Sarah donned a Galia Lahav custom gown with APM Monaco jewels.

2018 Emmy Awards

Maya Rudolph: This lace Simone Rocha Fall 2018 dress landed on the lacklustre side and my eyes kept going to her hot-orange nails, which were an odd companion colour to the mumsy look.

Laurie Metcalf: I think this Badgley Mischka dress is lovely on Laurie, even if I did kind of get mother-of-the-bride vibes. She styled it with a Tyler Ellis clutch, Repossi jewels, and Kwiat jewels.

Chrissy Teigen: I’m sure this Zuhair Murad Fall 2018 Couture gown was intricately beautiful in person. But, rather than celebrating the embellishment, the reverse triangle cutout pretty much commanded most of the attention. Lorraine Schwartz jewels completed the look.

2018 Emmy Awards

Leslie Jones: As with Amanda Crew’s suit, I could have totally seen this Christian Siriano holographic tailoring at a sassier event — sans that cream clutch and earrings, of course.

Angela Bassett: She may have bypassed the red carpet, but Angela still looked striking in this architectural Azzi & Osta Fall 2017 gown styled with Gismondi jewels.
