2018 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Roundup

2018 Emmys

There were many more stars in the 2018 Emmy Awards constellation on Monday (September 17) in LA.

Madelaine Petsch: The starlet complemented her cascade of auburn waves with a Prada gown that furtively cloaked a shiny embroidered skirt under cloudy tulle layers.

Tatiana Maslany: This Christian Siriano design was inspired by the Spring 2019 collection, with the highlighter-yellow front train delivering all the sass you could possibly want. Christian Louboutin heels and EF Collection jewels completed the neon-bright entrance.

V&A Summer Party Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more celebs joining Sylvia Hoeks and Ciara in London for the V&A Summer Party on Wednesday (June 20).

Lady Kitty Spencer: Taking inspiration from Sicilian Majolica ceramic art, this dress from Dolce & Gabbana is printed with a colourful and artistic array of painted florals motifs. Spotlighting a feminine fit and flare silhouette, the look was interestingly complemented by colourful Mary Jane pumps.

Princess Beatrice: I love the white MSGM ruffle dress and her Kurt Geiger ‘Stratton’ pumps, but her Pop & Suki box bag didn’t need to make a reappearance with this look. It just didn’t work for me.

Gwendoline Christie: This wasn’t my favourite from this event, but I did like the girlie flourish which came from the hairband.

Gwendoline Christie In Iris van Herpen Couture – ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ London Premiere

Gwendoline Christie joined Kelly Marie Tran and Laura Dern for the ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ London premiere held at the Royal Albert Hall this evening (December 12).

There was time when Gwendoline stayed true to two designers: Vivienne Westwood and Giles Deacon; so I’m delighted to see her branch out and explore new designers and silhouettes.

I think this Iris van Herpen Fall 2017 Couture gown might just be my favourite ever look from the actress.

I love how the voluminous veil of wispy semi-sheer tulle showcases a more sensual side to her style, while not compromising her strong, commanding presence on the red carpet.

There is so much detail and intrigue that I didn’t even find myself thinking about the sheerness; as I was imagining how beautifully this Couture piece would’ve glided down the red carpet.

Gwendoline Christie In Gucci – ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ LA Premiere

Gwendoline Christie attended the ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ premiere on Saturday (December 9) in Los Angeles, California.

The British actress wore a head-turning custom Gucci gown.

The statement appeal doesn’t end with the shimmering fabric: it’s punctuated with a bow at the neck, and defined by bold shoulders and silhouette-honouring gathered seams before ending with a high slit.

Everything about this look is bold, powerful and on-theme. The only problem I have with this look are the cream satin pumps.

‘Top of the Lake: China Girl’ New York Premiere

Gwendoline Christie and Elisabeth Moss brought suiting options to the red carpet for the ‘Top Of The Lake China Girl’ premiere on Thursday (September 7) in New York City.

Gwendoline Christie: I would’ve been more inclined to get excited about her Vivienne Westwood Couture look had the draped detail been at the side and not at the front. I’m guessing it held more weight in movement. It certainty looks stunning in the sketch below.

Elisabeth Moss: Opting for tried and true tailoring, Elisabeth kept the styling of her A.L.C. satin lapel suit simple and chic sans blouse. Subtle Jennifer Meyer jewels and a watermelon lip colour rounded out her look. This might just be my favourite look from Elisabeth this year.

‘Top of the Lake: China Girl’ – Television Critics Association Press Tour

The 2017 Summer Television Critics Association Press Tour brought out four femmes behind ‘Top of the Lake: China Girl’ for a panel discussion on Saturday (July 29) in Beverly Hills, California.

Elisabeth Moss: I always find myself slightly underwhelmed by Elisabeth’s style, as I think she often dresses too maturely. This Camilla and Mark pleated frock fell somewhat in that category, although the brighter colour and print was a step in the right direction. However, the high neckline isn’t the most flattering or youth-achieving for her.

Gwendoline Christie: While Gwendoline’s 6’3” height will always command attention, I was bored with her choice of menswear-inspired ensembles as she can do so much more with her statuesque form than this standard-issue silk blouse and black trousers uniform.

Nicole Kidman: With a rosy outlook, Nicole donned a dainty Rochas Resort 2018 embroidered ruffle dress. I always like seeing her channel a softer, feminine side, but the illusion neckline and overbearing sleeves quickly ruined me on this prairie frock.

Alice Englert: Marching to the beat of her own style drum, Alice kept it quirky and casual in her plaid shirt and boyfriend jeans, topped off with sculpted teal sandals for a style-rebel look that certainly made no apologies.

Clearly, there was no fashion pow-wow prior to this panel, given this highly eclectic, motley mix of looks.
