2019 Grammys Red Carpet Roundup

2019 Grammys Red Carpet Roundup

As per usual, the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 10) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California brought no shortage of bold, experimental fashion.

H.E.R.: She oozed cool in a custom Coach ensemble which brought to mind a twinkling galaxy. Her styling and attitude really helped make it a Grammys look.

Kimberly Schlapman: It’s evident the Little Big Town singer loved her J. Mendel gown. She wasn’t shy with accessories, but it worked with the free-spirited style.

America Ferrera In J. Mendel – ‘How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ LA Premiere

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features America Ferrera In J. Mendel - 'How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World' LA Premiere

America Ferrera put on a dreamy display at the ‘How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’ LA premiere on Saturday (February 9).

The whimsical sentiment was turned way up in this fantastical J. Mendel Spring 2019 gown. It’s easily one of her most ethereal looks.

The soft dégradé of colours against the diagonal lines already captivated and the billowing cape was the final flourish.

As much as I am charmed by the enchanting style and her experimenting, I cannot ignore the wishy-washy shades. She truly shines in bolder tones.

2019 SAG Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features 2019 SAG Awards

The 2019 SAG Awards on Sunday evening (January 27) at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California featured countless head-turning looks.

Laverne Cox: The presenter was a beauty in red in slinky Zac Posen Resort 2019. The single chain on the front might have gotten lost with the silky drapery but it was made up for in the back of the gown with multiple strands.

Elizabeth McLaughlin: This blue J. Mendel dress complemented the American actress’s ginger hair beautifully, but the cutout with cummerbund waist reads as awkward.

Emily Osment: The ‘Young and Hungry’ actress was a lady in red. Her Rachel Gilbert gown had an Old Hollywood feel with the frill adding playfulness to the structured fabric. Atelier Swarovski accessories completed her look.

Constance Wu dazzled at the 2019 Producers Guild Awards on Saturday (January 19) in Beverly Hills, California, wearing a gold J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2019 gown.

J. Mendel is known for creating old world luxury designs, and this piece perfectly fits Constance love for embellishments and decadence.

While the halter neckline cut-outs provide a touch of sexiness, the overall look including the chic updo rendered this look sophisticated and timeless.

InStyle And Warner Bros. Golden Globes After Party

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features InStyle And Warner Bros. Golden Globes After Party

The InStyle and Warner Bros. 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards Post-Party on Sunday (January 6) in Beverly Hills, California, was the most attended party last night, so strap in for the 41 looks.

Rowan Blanchard: There are many of you who haven’t been able to get on board with Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2019 ruffles. This crinkle organza multi layer dress was a tall order for the petite star, but with her new pixie hair, Buccellati jewels and confident attitude, she pulls this off for me, even though I’m not fan of her Roger Vivier sandals.

Kiki Layne: The ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ actress swapped her Dior for Valentino, wearing sparkling tiered whimsy dress from the Spring 2019 collection. This is another dress which may see you divided, but I think she carries if off with great aplomb.

Amazon Prime Video’s Golden Globe Awards After Party

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Amazon Prime Video's Golden Globe Awards After-Party

Amazon Prime Video’s Golden Globe Awards After Party was held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 6) in Beverly Hills, California.

Ashley Tisdale: With the only pop of colour coming from her newly dyed pink hair, I love the level of sophistication oozing from this look and those Dannijo earrings.

Heidi Klum: My mother always said, “never take the lord’s name in vain”, but by god this is a mess. What a drop down from the main event.  How do I unsee this?

Emmy Rossum: Thankfully Emmy was on hand to cleanse my eyes wearing a gorgeous J. Mendel gown. I would’ve loved a red lip here.

HBO’s Official Golden Globe Awards After Party

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features HBO's Official Golden Globe Awards After Party

There were more stars in attendance at the many post-globes parties, than the main event it seems. Here is a look at those who attended HBO’s party on Sunday (January 6).

Angela Sarafyan: The’ Westword’ star was the one person we were all excited to see on the red carpet in 2018. Angela got her 2019 campaign underway wearing a pretty pink Cushnie Resort 2019 gown styled with matching pink earrings, proving last year was no fluke.

Tiffany Haddish: The actress wore a custom Michael Kors Collection that methinks deserved to be on the red carpet at the main event.

Amal Clooney In J. Mendel – 23rd Annual United Nations Correspondents Associations (UNCA) Awards

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature the Amal Clooney In J. Mendel - 23rd Annual United Nations Correspondents Associations (UNCA) Awards

George and Amal Clooney stepped out on Wednesday (December 5) evening to attend the 23rd Annual United Nations Correspondents Associations (UNCA) Awards in New York City.

Do I need to profess my love for Amal Clooney once again?

Well I’m going to anyway, because the human rights lawyer looked breath-taking in J. Mendel’s blue and white silk gown.

Impeccable and polished from head-to-toe, at this point I think she could wear a bin bag and I would still swoon.

It’s all in the delivery and finesse.

Scarlett Johansson In J. Mendel – American Museum Of Natural History 2018 Gala

Scarlett Johansson In J. Mendel - American Museum Of Natural History 2018 Gala

Like Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson was also having a gorgeous fairytale moment at The American Museum Of Natural History 2018 Gala on Thursday (November 15) in New York City.

Princess gowns and Scarlett Johansson are not instantly synonymous, but somehow this J. Mendel Spring 2019 dusty pink sequined gown with tulle overlay, feels like it was made for her; sugary shade and all.

I love how this dreamy confection brought an ethereal elegance to both her red carpet style and the event.

Netflix’s ‘Narcos: Mexico’ Season 1 Premiere

Netflix’s ‘Narcos: Mexico’ Season 1 premiere on Wednesday (November 14) in Los Angeles, California had no shortage of elaborate looks.

Alyssa Diaz: ‘The Rookie’ actress dazzled in an Alberta Ferretti Fall 2018 dress with a Vince Camuto clutch and Djula jewels. The banding across the ribs recalled a Grecian inspiration and helped with the fit of the plunging bodice.

Fatima Molina: She balanced the clean lines of her trousers with a tuft of tulle on the bodice. The illusion neckline with studs gets lost against the voluminous material.

Teresa Ruiz: This vivid Kelly green shade lit up the room and the plunging neckline with tiny keyhole detailing balanced out the tailoring for a sensual ensemble.

Meg Ryan In J. Mendel – Friar’s Club Honors Billy Crystal With Entertainment Icon Award

Meg Ryan In J. Mendel - Friar's Club Honors Billy Crystal With Entertainment Icon Award

The Friar’s Club honoured Billy Crystal with their Entertainment Icon Award on Monday (November 12) in New York City, with Meg Ryan in attendance.

Her J. Mendel Resort 2019 gown is pretty with its floral embroidered tulle, but I was very worried prior to this outing at how it would translate on the red carpet.

The outcome? Not bad at all.

I had visions of someone wearing black underwear, which would’ve totally killed the look.

Meg kept the look and the styling simple, which allowed the gown to flourish.

Olivia Munn In J. Mendel – 2018 Baby2Baby Gala

Olivia Munn In J. Mendel - 2018 Baby2Baby Gala

Olivia Munn was one of the many attendees at the 2018 Baby2Baby Gala on Saturday (November 10). She joined Amy Adams and Rachel Bilson.

It’s rare to get a proper neutral gown that isn’t a metallic so it was a delightful surprise to see the actress sporting a charming J. Mendel Fall 2018 dress in a creamy butterscotch.

The sheer ruffles with exposed blush underlining ensure this was anything but a boring neutral dress. It had a richness that brought out her colouring in a divine way.

A Jimmy Choo clutch, Christian Louboutin shoes and jewelry by EF Collection, Effy Jewelry and Sara Weinstock completed the romantic turn.
