2025 Academy Museum Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a final look at the ladies who graced the red carpet at the 2025 Academy Museum Gala on Saturday.

Classic elegance revived

Zoey Deutch has been unstoppable on the red carpet this year, and her Zac Posen gown was no exception — in fact, it is one of her best. The dramatic scarlet hue and sculpted halter neckline brought back that old-school Hollywood glamour we’ve been missing lately. After seeing Jennifer Lawrence’s Dior look in Rome last night, Zoey’s gown reminded me how much I crave this brand of timeless, unfussy sophistication.

Lace gone astray

I’m genuinely baffled by Taylour Paige here. Usually one of the most thoughtful dressers — an actress who approaches fashion like a conversation — this McQueen lace gown felt oddly disconnected from her usual energy. It’s sheer, dark, and technically complex, but it lacks the emotional depth or freshness that usually defines her style. A rare miss from one of the red carpet’s quiet innovators.

A jolt of sunshine

Regina Hall brought warmth to the carpet in a Cong Tri Spring 2026 yellow gown that radiated joy. It’s structured yet fluid, exuding the perfect balance between red carpet glamour and ease.

Modern fairytale

Opera gloves are a divisive accessory, but they worked beautifully with Rachel Zegler’s Tamara Ralph Spring 2025 Couture raspberry gown. The exaggerated overskirt and sculpted bodice gave the look a modern princess energy, while the shorter hemline made it feel youthful and wearable. The only downside for me here, is the creases.

Purple reign

Big gowns have always been part of Lucy Liu’s red carpet DNA, and this Miss Sohee tulip-shaped creation proves she hasn’t lost her flair for grandeur. But let’s be honest — the real scene-stealer was her Margot McKinney statement necklace.

Feathered finesse

I love that Laura Dern switched up her signature hair for an updo — that Miu Miu halter neckline needed it. I initially thought the texture was puckering, it turns out to be deliberate ruching — a small detail that makes a big difference, but the feathers steal the spotlight here.

Rare Miss

Usually, I’m on board with any Kirsten Dunst x Rodarte outing, but this lace halter archive Fall 2012 gown loses me from the waist down. The transparency adds nothing to the romantic fantasy Rodarte is known for. I wanted ethereal — I got unfinished.

Less is more

I know what you’re going to say — “go on, Kendall Jenner, give us nothing.” But I’ll defend this one. The simplicity of her The Row black dress, with its subtle gathered detailing and clean lines, perfectly aligns with her minimalist red carpet persona. It’s quiet luxury done right. Briony Raymond jewels completed her look.

Soft success

I realise that Stella McCartney designs will always divide opinions, but this draped yellow gown on Kate Hudson is a win. It flatters her beautifully and brings her usual breezy glamour to the carpet. Shame about the black Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps — a silver strappy metallic sandal would’ve taken this to the next level. Chopard jewels completed her look.

Sheer perfection

If anyone needs a masterclass on how to pull off sheer lace, Kaia Gerber delivered it. Her custom Givenchy by Sarah Burton gown is proof that transparency can look refined, not risqué. Elegant, angelic, and true to the modern Givenchy aesthetic.

Diva mode activated

Jennifer Hudson was pure Hollywood diva in Sergio Hudson. The velvet, sequins, and dramatic stole exuded luxury and confidence. It’s bold, unapologetic, and completely in her wheelhouse.

So bad. So very bad

Honestly, I’m shocked Eva Longoria’s pink sequin Haute Couture gown is Elie Saab — it looks more so cheap for a label that prides itself on red carpet glamour. It explains a lot with regards to why we don’t see this label on the red carpet as much anymore. Carrera y Carrera diamonds completed her look.

Emily Ratajkowski Jean Paul Gaultier Academy Museum Gala, Emily Ratajkowski Academy Museum Gala Red Carpet, Emily Ratajkowski Academy Museum Gala Best Dressed,

Unexpected refinement

Emily Ratajkowski surprised me in Jean Paul Gaultier. This blue column dress – from the very controversial Spring 2026 collection – might be her most elegant outing yet — sleek, simple, and refreshingly restrained. Briony Raymond jewels completed her look.

Ruffled regrets

I just can’t get past the green ruffled neckline on Cara Delevingne’s Tamara Ralph Haute Couture gown. It distracts from what could have been an otherwise sleek, silver statement.

Shimmer & Shine

Alison Brie wrapped up the event in Oscar de la Renta, looking like a modern siren in silver. The sculpted lines, drapery and fluid shimmer perfectly balanced her signature playful edge with grown-up glamour.
