American Film Institute’s 46th Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute to George Clooney

There were many more A-Listers joining Cate Blanchett, Anna Kendrick and Amal Clooney and for the American Film Institute’s 46th Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute to George Clooney on Thursday (June 7) in Hollywood, California.

Jennifer Aniston: The breath-taking construction of this bodice makes me realise how much I miss seeing the craftsmanship of Christian Lacroix Haute Couture on the red carpet.

Cindy Crawford: The super model was serving up pure elegance in this Stella McCartney one-shoulder gown. Granted it’s nothing new, but you can’t deny that with minimal effort Cindy is a vision here. There was plenty of sparkle to be had via her Jimmy Choo ‘Cayla’ clutch, gold sandals and earrings.

Julianna Margulies: The actress is always radiant on the red carpet. On this occasion she opted for midnight blue, over her favoured black. I love the silhouette of this Vionnet Fall 2014 Couture dress, but I’m not sure of the design from the bustle downwards. A Jimmy Choo ‘Vivienne’ clutch completed her look.

Laura Dern In Valentino – 13th Annual Global Women’s Rights Awards

Laura Dern was honored at the 13th Annual Global Women’s Rights Awards on Monday (May 21) in Beverly Hills, California.

A number of the attendees were outfitted in black, including the actress who wore a Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 dress.

The flowing style had a bewitching quality courtesy of the sprinkling of multicoloured floral embellishment and the velvet bow securely loosely at the hip.

Metallic sandals, a Hearts on Fire diamond ring and Djula diamond rings played into the enchanting sentiment.

Laura Dern In Derek Lam & Rodarte – ‘The Tale’ LA Screenings

Laura Dern attended ‘The Tale’ LA screening hosted by Film Independent at LACMA on Thursday (May 17) and the FYC screening on (May 20).

‘The Tale’ Screening: The rich forest green colour is divine with her colouring, but this Derek Lam Fall 2018 look comes across as very autumnal even with the sandals. I’m trying to overlook it, but it would have been more successful broken up.

FYC Screening: She typically gravitates towards more fluid silhouettes, but does like to switch it up, as evidenced by this Rodarte Fall 2018 look. With frills upon frills, it was sweet but the sheer fabrication of the top and simpler neckline prevented it from veering towards saccharine.

Laura Dern In Proenza Schouler – 2018 Met Gala

Laura Dern was also at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

I’m afraid I couldn’t really get on board with this Proenza Schouler colour-blocked, black-and-white design.

It was a dress of such stark contrasts. And, as much as I appreciated the vintage Alexander Calder crown-like necklace by Stephen Russell, it seemed to be a wasted afterthought here to check the box on the theme.

Rings by Fred Leighton completed the look.

2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Red Carpet Roundup

The crush of beauties continued in full force on the red carpet of the 2018 Vanity Fair Oscar Party last night (March 4) in Beverly Hills, California.

Odeya Rush: The young starlet was a vision in this neon-bright chartreuse Vivienne Westwood Couture gown. The sculptural, one-shoulder ruffle detail is nothing we haven’t seen before, but the bold colour made the look feel dynamic. I do think she could have offered up a more youthful beauty look—and less bronzer—to accompany the sophisticated sass of the gown.

Dree Hemingway: There was a delicate daintiness to this Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 nude, embellished lace gown, which Dree echoed in her minimal hair and makeup. The yellow-tinged, ribbon belt made all the difference in breathing a bit of life into the neutral dress, with Repossi jewels to complete the look.
