2018 Evening Standard Theatre Awards

2018 Evening Standard Theatre Awards

Elegance and drama were common themes at the 2018 Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday (November 18) in London. Celebrities joined Jenna Coleman, Claire Foy and Letitia Wright.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge: The evening’s presenter was perfectly coordinated with the backdrop in custom Richard Quinn, Gina shoes and Cartier jewelry. She still shone in her own right thanks to the alluring draped neckline and rich explosion of colourful blooms.

Sophie Okonedo: The winner of the Natasha Richardson Award for Best Actress projected ladylike refinement in Emilia Wickstead Fall 2018. It might not have been an obvious red carpet choice, but I am caught up with the open neckline and how the shoulders merge into the choker detail.

Suki Waterhouse: In Brock Collection Spring 2019, she presented a more unabashed vintage femininity than her typical style but she radiates in the outfit. The flared hem balances the oversized sleeves for a charming finish.

Maya Jama In House of Holland – Swarovski Oxford Street

Maya Jama In House of Holland - Swarovski Oxford Street

Maya Jama attended the opening of the newly designed Swarovski Oxford Street store on Thursday (October 25) in London.

The TV presenter wore a House of Holland Fall 2018 jacket and jeans combo which at first I thought the look was dyed, but the illusion is created with the two colours coming together.

Red denim has never really appealed to me, but I love the creative way it has been presented here, plus Maya’s styling which keeps things sexy and modern.

Some might think the same, others may thinks she has her outfit set for Halloween.

Maya Jama In Topshop & Jourdan Dunn In Zimmermann – Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation Dinner Party

Maya Jama and Jourdan Dunn posed at Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation dinner party on Monday (April 9) in London, England. The event was to launch the campaign for Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation which now comes in 35 shades.

Maya Jama: The radio presenter showed some leg in floral print Topshop coordinates and a white top. The short skirt and the denim fabrication gave the feminine colour palette and detailing a bit of edge. The metallic heels elevated the look for evening and brought a beautiful radiance.

Jourdan Dunn: The British beauty put on a coordinated display with the ditsy print and pastel hue of her Zimmerman Spring 2018 dress echoing Maya’s ensemble. It too showed plenty of leg with the lace hem drawing more attention to her pins. Cut-outs down the chest added more sensuality giving an opening-at-the-seams effect. I would have liked to see a more delicate shoe as the black is rather stark against all of the subdued tones.

The BRIT Awards 2018 Red Carpet Roundup

Long, short, and everything in between, the eclectic looks marched on with so many more stars in attendance at The Brit Awards 2018 on Wednesday (February 21) in London.

Jennifer Hudson: I loved the sizzling hue of this red-hot Ralph Lauren gown, but not the fit. The patent-plasticized look would have been all shine had the silhouette been sleeker without the awkward folds.

Adwoa Aboah: Rita Ora wasn’t the only one in feathers, as Adwoa also took a flight of fancy with this Sonia Rykiel white dress. The model’s directional looks can sometimes be a tough sell, so I like the pristine romance she presented here with Jimmy Choo ‘Minny’ sandals and a Time’s Up rose to complete the picture.

Maya Jama: Given this House of Holland mini was a custom piece, I expected an impeccable fit and the pink metallic number delivered. She complemented its flirty, girlish side with Sophia Webster embellished sandals. But, I would have left the diamond choker at home.

2017 MTV EMAs Red Carpet Roundup

While many will still be talking about Rita Ora’s double bathrobe moment at the 2017 MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 12) in London, there were plenty of other daring looks to likewise borrow some of the spotlight.

Leomie Anderson: I love how the model looked to vintage Vivienne Westwood inspiration in this Fall 1994 look. Her high ponytail and combat boots added another layer of sassy edge to the look that had plenty of modern edge.

Demi Lovato: Proving that plaid and a paper-bag waist can somehow maintain a sexy appeal, Demi worked the proportions of this Styland suit to her advantage. Giuseppe Zanotti plafforms were clearly necessary given the length of the pants, with Messika jewelry rounding out the look. If the super-long extensions get a pass, it’s only because of this being a MTV occasion.

Tallia Storm: Her Topshop ‘Cosmic Star’ embellished slip dress offered an accessible interpretation on red-carpet dressing. I can easily see the socks and platforms being a sticking point, however, they did bring funky appeal, with an Alexander McQueen clutch for a bit of overt British flavour to finish the look.
