The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 Women In Entertainment

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature The Hollywood Reporter's Power 100 Women In Entertainment

Lupita Nyong’o was joined on the red carpet for The Hollywood Reporter’s Power 100 Women In Entertainment event on Wednesday (December 5) in Los Angeles, California, by a host of lovely ladies.

Amandla Stenberg: The young actress continues to have fun with fashion. This time she wore a Sies Marjan Fall 2018 striped suit which was oversized, but not outsized. The pretty pink hue ensured a feminine vibe.

Danai Gurira: The actress is back to wearing bold colour, and I couldn’t be happier. While I love the draping of this Poiret Spring 2019 dress, I prefer how this dress was presented on the runway.

Awkwafina: I surprised that even with this cheery bug-print MSGM top and skirt that the actress still can’t raise a smile.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Emilia Wickstead – ‘A Private War’ London Film Festival Premiere

Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Emilia Wickstead - 'A Private War' London Film Festival Premiere

Gugu Mbatha-Raw joined Rosamund Pike for the London Film Festival premiere of ‘A Private War’ on Saturday (October 20).

Honestly, I wasn’t a fan of this Emilia Wickstead Fall 2018 burgundy gown on the runway, and that hasn’t changed on the red carpet.

I don’t feel like this look does anything for Gugu. It’s neither flattering on the bust or hips.

A rare miss for me.

ALINKA jewels completed her look.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw In Andreas Kronthaler for Vivenne Westwood – ‘Fast Color’ SXSW Festival Premiere

The 2018 SXSW Conference and Festival is in full swing, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw was in Austin, Texas over the weekend for the ‘Fast Color’ SXSW premiere on Saturday (March 10).

To say that I preferred her variation on this Andreas Kronthaler for Vivenne Westwood Spring 2018 micro-check dress to the original would be a gross understatement.

The actress brought such a radiant interpretation of the signature VW draped silhouette that was at once vintage-inspired and thoroughly modern.

More pretty. Less punk. And I was fully on board.

She even sold me on the languid drama of the robe-like, belted coat, which she added atop the dress whilst on stage.

‘A Wrinkle in Time’ New York Screening Red Carpet Roundup

Head-turning short silhouettes were the preferred look at the ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ New York screening on Wednesday (March 7) with costars showing some leg. They joined Storm Reid.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw: The British beauty cut a sharp figure in a black Narciso Rodriguez Pre-Fall 2018 dress. The seams and pleating molded to her body and brought out the tougher finish in the fabric. The orange-red lipstick added a pop of colour while playing into the classic-with-a-twist mood.

Reese Witherspoon: The brocade fabric on the Co dress might have a moody sentiment, but there is still a playfulness to the look thanks to the puff sleeves and gently flared skirt. The belted waist helps balance the volume on top while adding a feminine charm that the actress favours. Her smile was as magnetic as her silver shoes.

Mindy Kaling: The actress brought some colour with a vivid red Jill Jill Stuart bell sleeve frock. The flared sleeves add drama to the sheath shape with the white shoes bringing freshness. From the pose, one might think she is self-conscious about the front slit, but she revealed the sultry detail in other photographs.

‘A Wrinkle In Time’ LA Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

The Los Angeles premiere of Disney’s ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ on Monday (February 26) brought out the storybook romance in many lovely ladies.

Tessa Thompson: The ‘Westworld actress’ oozed retro elegance in an embellished Miu Miu dress. It’s clear she has considered the entire look, but I must say that the Judith Leiber clutch takes away from the diamantes on the gown. The Irene Neuwirth and David Yurman jewels were more harmonizing.

Tracee Ellis Ross: The ‘Black-ish’ actress was a beauty blooms in a Michael Kors Resort 2018 dress. The pleated style has a romantic fairy tale quality, but her styling gives it a fashion-forward finish. A Tyler Ellis clutch, pale pink boots and her cornrows elevate the look.

Oprah Winfrey: Va-va-voom! The multi-hyphenate looked sensational in a deep blue Atelier Versace number. She may not have gone the princess route, but I don’t think anyone will be complaining about this sultry number.
