Odessa A’zion’s Archival Jean Paul Gaultier for Emmys

Odessa A’zion was a guest presenter at the 2026 Emmy Awards on Monday night, and if you know anything about her style, you won’t be surprised by the direction she took.

Odessa is never going to give you the standard Hollywood gown, and as she wasn’t nominated, there was even less reason to play by the usual awards season “rules.”

She opted for a Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 1996 black velvet look, originally presented in red on the runway. I have a feeling many of you won’t be on board, especially with that landing-strip panel running down the trousers, but you can’t say this isn’t authentically Odessa A’zion.

Why? Because she consistently gravitates towards clothes with an offbeat edge. She likes unconventional proportions, vintage and archival fashion, and looks that feel more connected to her personal style than to the expectations of the event. This Jean Paul Gaultier look ticks every one of those boxes.

It may not be classic Emmys glamour, but I would have been far more surprised to see Odessa in something that didn’t match her style personality.
