2021 Grammy Awards Red Carpet Roundup
Here is the roundup from the 2021 Grammy Awards which took place on Sunday (March 14) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Alana Haim, Danielle Haim & Este Haim: The sisters all wore custom Prada periwinkle coloured looks with taffeta sleeveless dresses and leather kitten heels the running theme.
I’ve often spoken about how I love when girl groups co-ordinate their outfits, but when I see this, it feels like a uniform, and somewhat robotic.
Prada have presented a lot of great looks during awards season. Maria Bakalova at the Critics’ Choice Awards springs to mind, but these three looks pale in comparison.
Billie Eilish: It was a busy night for Billie as she was the winner of Record of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media and nominee for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
She took to the red carpet wearing custom Gucci grey and rose pink jacquard floral featuring a embroidered black sequin tiger detail Even her nails got the grey and pink floral detailed treatment.
The woman knows how to commit to a look, that’s for sure.
H.E.R.: When it comes to H.E.R.’s style I can never put a label on it. Every event she gives us something totally different – which I’m not complaining about, as it keeps things interesting.
What I will complain about are how ridiculously long her velvet trousers are. This Dundas Fall 2021 look channels a luxe boho vibe which she could’ve pulled off, had she opted to tailor the trousers to fit.
The robe, which is tailored with iris art nouveau motif embroidery is stunning, but I can’t get over the sloppy trousers.
Ironically she was wearing Stuart Weitzman gold ‘Nudist’ Hollywood platforms with this look.
Ingrid Andress: I was very impressed by the sultry sophistication of the country singer’s Armani Prive suit.
As you know I love a sans blouse moment. But I was enthused to learn that Ingrid is actually wearing a tulle bodysuit adorned with layers of tiered crystal necklaces.
Earrings and rings from Chopard completed her look.
Julia Michaels: Other than ‘this is Kate Beckinsale’s dress’, my other feeling about this Georges Chakra Fall 2020 Couture gown is that it needed someone taller after seeing how the white 3-D origami pleated floral detailing on a netted skirt looks on the model.
Messika jewels and Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Anise’ sandals completed her look.
Miranda Lambert: The Country singer wore a Genny Spring 2021 dress. The wavy neckline and emerald green Tyler Ellis clutch were perhaps the most interesting features of this look.
The look was accessorized with KWIAT Jewels and Sophia Webster heels.
Chloe and Halle Bailey: They may be sisters who both wore custom Louis Vuitton looks, but their style couldn’t be more different.
Chloe’s bustier dress was oozing with sex appeal thanks to the latex thigh-high boots.
While Disney star Halle, kept things short and sweet.
Both ladies styled their looks with Tiffany & Co. jewels.
Phoebe Bridgers: The musician gave us an alternative glamorous look from Thom Browne. Some might feel that the jacket and skirt adorned with black tulle madras trompe l’oeil tweed featuring crystal and pearl skeleton embroidery is creepy, yet I love how well executed this look was.
Maren Morris: The country singer wore a beautiful Dolce & Gabbana silk satin slip gown in a summery pale lilac hue which was enriched by Swarovski crystals.
Chika: The rapper was very much in tune with Spring wearing a custom Nike x Meals set and mask with a Versace bag and Berna Peci Jewelry.
Mickey Guyton: Nominated in the ‘Best Country Solo Performance’ category, the singer wore a floral-embroidered tulle gown from the Valentino Pre-Fall 2021 collection, style with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals.
