2018 CMA Awards

 2018 CMA Awards

Show-stopping glamour was out in full force at the 2018 CMA Awards on Wednesday (November 14) in Nashville, Tennessee. Celebrities joined Kelsea BalleriniOlivia Culpo and Kacey Musgraves.

Kellie Pickler: There will no doubt be Princess Belle comparisons thanks to this gold Anne Barge gown. The glamorous mood and flow of the fishtail hem are striking but it seems a tad tight.

Mackenzie Foy: ‘The Nutcracker And The Four Realms’ star struck the right balance of fun and formal in Miu Miu with Irene Neuwirth jewelry and Roger Vivier shoes.

Maren Morris In Raisa & Vanessa - 66th Annual BMI Country Awards

Maren Morris attended the 66th Annual BMI Country Awards at BMI on Tuesday (November 13) in Nashville, Tennessee.

The singer wore a Raisa & Vanessa Spring 2019 look which was indicative of their signature style which is sexy designs which make a woman powerful in her own skin.

I have to say I’m more enamored by this look on Maren, as the detailed, colourful two-piece outfit suits her expressive sense of style perfectly.

Maren Morris In Raisa & Vanessa - 2018 CMT Artists Of The Year

Maren Morris joined Carrie Underwood on the red carpet for the 2018 CMT Artists of The Year event on Wednesday (October 17) in Nashville, Tennessee.

My first thoughts when I saw this Raisa & Vanessa Fall 2018 dress was, “thank god she didn’t opt for that belt….and those boots.”

Yet it still feels like there is too much going on.

I mean, she carries it off well enough, but this is the one time when I feel like the feathers are too much.

2018 Billboard Music Awards Red Carpet Roundup

There was no shortage of drama at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Celebrities joined, Janet Jackson, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez.

Padma Lakshmi: The ‘Top Chef’ host glimmered in The Blonds. It had sensuality and shimmer, but it would have benefited from editing. Had the sequined fabric been on the bustier and the satin as the draped layer, it might have been more successful.

Hailey Baldwin: The model took the plunge in Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2018. The draping is splendid but the colour doesn’t do anything. The black version from the lookbook would have been preferable or a rich jewel tone. Not even the Jennifer Fisher jewels could enliven it.

Cyn: Cannes showcased a few similar looks to this Saint Laurent Fall 2018 dress, but with much stronger shoulders. The arm likely won’t prove as irksome as the heavy ruching on the skirt and the placement of the tie.

Get The Look: Maren Morris’ Molten Metallic ACM Awards Beauty Look

Much like her show-stopping ACM Awards performance, Maren Morris’s beauty look was all about rich molten metallic tones. Allan Avendaño, makeup artist to Hollywood’s trendiest starlets, made sure to create a unique look for Maren which was sure to dazzle on both the red carpet and Awards stage.

Incorporating the jewel-like aubergine tones of her oil-slick style Christian Siriano red carpet dress, the final look was glamorously glowing and everything luxe. Using Kat Von D’s versatile beauty collection, here’s how to Allan created this metallic look:

SKIN: Beginning with a cleansed and moisturized face, Allan proceeded with foundation. He evenly blended Kat Von D Lock It Foundation in shade 54-Medium Cool onto Maren’s skin. He then used Kat Von D Lock IT Concealer Creme in 13-Light Bisque Cool to brighten up the under eye area. To seal in the flawless base and add longevity to the look, Allan dusted her skin with Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder.

CHEEKS: Moving to the cheeks, Allan wanted a defined look with a glamorous metallic glow. Using the Kat Von D Shade + Light Face Contour Palette, Allan sculpted Maren’s with the Shade Contour Powder in Sombre (taupe). For that lustrous metallic sheen, he blended Gammaray, an opalescent peach shade with pink and gold crystals, shade from the Kat Von D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter Palette on the tops of the cheeks bones and high points of the face.

EYES: For the mesmeric metallic eye look, Allan used an array of Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadows. These bold shades each feature bold and lasting pigments with a metallic finish which made the eye look pop and remain immaculate throughout Maren’s outstanding performance. Before creating the daring smoky eye look, Allan primed her eyes with Kat Von D Lock It Concealer. He used Thrasher, the molten gold shade with Synergy, a deep bronze as the base shade. To create the colorful purple smoke of the eye look, he blended burgundy (Raw Power) and purple (Danzig) to the outer corners of the eyes. To frame Maren’s eye look, he lined her eyes with Kat Von D Tattoo in Trooper, an intensely pigmented satin black color.

BROWS: Once the eyes were complete, Allan groomed Maren’s brows with Kat Von D Brow Struck Dimension Powder and Signature Brow Precision Pencil (both in shade Walnut), which defined the overall shape and filled in any sparse areas.

LIPS: For the final beauty bit to this rich look, Allan was sure to include the essential prismatic metal elements when creating the lip. Due to the bold nature of eyes and defined glistening skin, Allan opted to accentuate Maren’s pout in a multi-dimensional crushed metal nude. Firstly, he lined her lips with Kat Von D Everlasting Lip Liner in Lolita II. He then saturated the lips with Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Noble. Lastly, Allan layered Kat Von D Everlasting Glimmer Veil Liquid Lipstick in Thrasher for that ultra cool pigmented gold metallic finish.

Maren Morris In Christian Siriano – 2018 ACM Awards

Maren Morris struck a pose at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday (April 15) in Las Vegas, Nevada. She joined Julia Michaels, Kelsea Ballerini and Lindsey Vonn.

The ‘Rich’ singer was clad in a form-fitting Christian Siriano Fall 2018 dress for the occasion.

I was captivated by the moody sheen of the style on the runway so I was very curious to see how it would photograph on the red carpet.

It still retained its striking multidimensional effect and caught the light in a different way with every pose.

The soft draping might be perceived as a bad fit, but the runway version proves the ruching is intentional as it helps add even more drama to the dress.

Casadei shoes and jewels from AS29, MARLI and Hearts On Fire jewels rounded out the look.

Pre-Grammys Weekend Roundup

This pre-Grammys weekend roundup left us with a motley collection of entrances in New York City that all appeared to be reading the same WDOTW memo.

Hailey Baldwin: Hailey joined another Hailee (Baldwin) at the Republic Records pre-Grammys event on Friday (January 26). However, they couldn’t have been dressed more unlike each other, as this pink Off-White Spring 2018 ensemble showed designer Virgil Abloh’s luxury streetwear vibe—done with a bubblegum ’80s twist. Jennifer Fisher jewels rounded out the directional look.

Priyanka Chopra:
With a rare misstep at the GRAMMY Salute to Industry Icons Honoring Jay-Z on Saturday (January 27), Priyanka lost me completely with this Ester Abner Spring 2018 outfit that suffered not only in fit but also in execution. All I was left with was an ill-conceived, messy bathrobe-boudoir vibe.

Julia Michaels: Also at the GRAMMY Salute event, Julia fared only marginally better in this Yanina Fall 2017 Couture frock. Exposed shoulder pads, blinding-white cuffs, and an unusual take on lining left a lot to be desired in the execution department.
