Jessica Chastain’s New Blonde Hair Comes With a New Red Carpet Style

Ever since Jessica Chastain returned to the red carpet last month, debuting her new blonde hair, she has favoured one particular silhouette: the mini dress. That continued with two looks she wore while promoting her new film Heartland.

Her first look was an Emilio Pucci mini dress featuring the house’s signature swirling geometric print. Pucci’s colourful prints have been central to the Italian label’s identity since the 1950s, and this pink, black and brown design is instantly recognisable. Styled with L’eggs black tights and pointed pumps, the look feels more playful than what we have come to expect from Jessica. But I’m not convinced this is the right direction for her.

Heartland Screening

Jessica’s second look came from the Miu Miu Fall 2026 collection. While the runway version was styled with trousers, Jessica opted for black tights and heels, accessorising with Bvlgari Serpenti Viper diamond earrings and a Serpenti emerald-and-diamond ring.

I suppose this is the more successful of the two, but ultimately, it’s just a black mini dress, and I’m finding it difficult to get excited about it.

As much as I like Jessica, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t struggling with this new style. As the saying goes, blondes have more fun, but neither look feels like her.

That’s not to say she should have stepped out in an Elie Saab gown for either event, but Jessica has always had such a strong fashion identity, and I just don’t recognise it here. The Miu Miu look is fine, I guess, but overall, I’m not impressed.
