Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

It’s time to catch up with the menswear circuit, as this past weekend brought with it a slew of handsome fellows on the red carpet.

Richard Madden: At the Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2018 on Sunday (November 18) in London, Richard was ever-so-dapper in a head-to-toe Salvatore Ferragamo look that was striking in its sophistication.

Timothée Chalamet: Continuing to show us his sharp eye for style, the young actor riffed on the classic black suit at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 2018 Governors Awards in Hollywood on Sunday (November 18). This Haider Ackermann Spring 2019 look offered such cool visual appeal in the jacket’s stained-glass, swirling pattern and shaping.

Eddie Redmayne: Speaking of cool-kids, Eddie will forever be one, especially with looks like this sporty Gucci ensemble at the ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ photocall in Madrid, Spain on Friday (November 16). Who knew a bee-emblazoned bomber could look so breezy.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

From premieres and screenings, to the CMA Awards and other showings, the men have been making handsome entrances over the past few days.

Sebastian Stan: At the ‘Destroyer’ screening on Tuesday (November 5) during AFI FEST 2018, Sebastian joined Nicole Kidman and wore this Tom Ford ‘Prince of Whales’ peak-lapel ‘Atticus’ suit styled with Chelsea boots. I think brown can sometimes look drab on the red carpet, but definitely not so here. The tonal colours and subtle patterning — not to mention the precise fit — worked wonders.

Noah Schnapp: How can you not smile at this ‘Stranger Things’ cutie in his Scotch & Soda striped suit and white sneakers at the 2018 CMA Awards on Wednesday (November 14).

Michael B. Jordan: At the ‘Creed II’ New York premiere on Wednesday (November 14), the actor wore all black in this Givenchy suit. But, it’s far from boring, as he always seems to bring so much charisma and dimension to his looks no matter what.

Kacey Musgraves In Versace – 2018 CMA Awards

Kacey Musgraves In Versace - 2018 CMA Awards

Kelsea Ballerini may have worn bright pink, Olivia Culpo may have gone sheer, but my attention was fully focused on Kacey Musgraves who served up two three carpet looks for the 2018 CMA Awards on Wednesday (November 14) in Nashville, Tennessee.

Red Carpet: Well, technically two, because her custom red carpet look saw just a removal of the bolero jacket, which I’m thankful for; because all the details were laid bare underneath. I love the modern Western influences imbued in the chiffon bodysuit accented with gold Swarovski crystal beaded fringe and a Medusa bolo tie. Her makeup is flawless, and I even love the sleek finish with the black Versace satin pumps.  Super sleek from head-to-toe.

Press Room: Picking up her ‘Best Album’ award for ‘Golden Hour’, the singer changed into a full look from the iconic Spring 2018 Tribute Collection. Monochromatic orange has never looked so good. I’m obsessing over those infinity leggings. Some might find this too one note, but she blew me out of the water with this one. Danielle Haim wore this same look back in February.

These have to be her best Country Music Awards red carpet moments. I can’t even decide which I prefer.

Scarlett Johansson In Versace – People’s Choice Awards 2018

Scarlett Johansson In Versace - People's Choice Awards 2018

Scarlett Johansson picked up the, Female Movie Star of 2018, at the 2018 People’s Choice Awards Barker Hangar on Sunday (November 11) in Santa Monica, California.

‘The Avengers’ star reminded us of how exquisite Versace’s tailoring is wearing a Resort 2019 red corset with high waist black trousers that heighten the contemporary femininity of the overall look.

I love how sexy her version of this ensemble is, but I think she would’ve looked just as sexy with the Versace t-shirt. That’s the allure of Scarlett.

Rita Ora In Versace – 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Rita Ora In Versace - 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

All eyes were on Londoner Rita Ora at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Manhattan on Thursday (November 8), where she donned two Versace looks.

Red Carpet: The singer first look hails from the legendary Spring 2018 Tribute collection as worn by Naomi Campbell. I love the way Rita paid homage to Donatella in this iconic gold chainmail gown with her super long blonde tresses, and how the look felt dynamic but not over the top with gold Versace sandals completing her look along with a natural body glow by Vita Liberata.

Performance: Speaking of going over the top, the singer performed her single ‘Let You Love Me’ as models – including Stella Maxwell and Gigi Hadid – stalked the mirrored runway wearing her second Versace look. The Swarovski crystal accented custom-made, bodysuit with nude illusion inserts was perfectly on brand for the lingerie fashion show, but the layers of iconic gold Versace chains took this into overkill territory. The take one, or five off rule really needed to apply here. Swarovski crystal-encrusted thigh-high boots, and a stylish coordinating Versace cap rounded out the look.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

We couldn’t let the week go by without checking on these leading men..starting with Eddie Redmayne.

Eddie Redmayne: The British actor is the only person, excluding Tom Hiddleston, who can make me consistently swoon upon sight of him in a luxe Polo Ralph Lauren velvet tuxedo. He was by far the best dressed at the 2019 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony, despite him stating that his 8-month son isn’t allowing him time to get much sleep.

Jared Leto: We expected Jared Leto to attend the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala, but did we expect this white satin lapel Gucci suit with a matching hat? No, I actually expected more colour from him, so this served as quite a surprise. I have moments when I love this and moments when I want him to remove that hat.

Timothée Chalamet: At the Hollywood Film Awards the young actor wore a sharply tailored Louis Vuitton suit, but I was more intrigued by the embellished shirt, and thankful for shoes over sneakers.
