Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

From premieres and screenings, to the CMA Awards and other showings, the men have been making handsome entrances over the past few days.

Sebastian Stan: At the ‘Destroyer’ screening on Tuesday (November 5) during AFI FEST 2018, Sebastian joined Nicole Kidman and wore this Tom Ford ‘Prince of Whales’ peak-lapel ‘Atticus’ suit styled with Chelsea boots. I think brown can sometimes look drab on the red carpet, but definitely not so here. The tonal colours and subtle patterning — not to mention the precise fit — worked wonders.

Noah Schnapp: How can you not smile at this ‘Stranger Things’ cutie in his Scotch & Soda striped suit and white sneakers at the 2018 CMA Awards on Wednesday (November 14).

Michael B. Jordan: At the ‘Creed II’ New York premiere on Wednesday (November 14), the actor wore all black in this Givenchy suit. But, it’s far from boring, as he always seems to bring so much charisma and dimension to his looks no matter what.

Now here’s a first. A menswear post without a hint of black in sight. Someone has been listening to our fashion prayers.

Alexander Skarsgard: The actor joined a host of ladies at the WSJ. Magazine 2018 Innovator Awards wearing a cool, caramel cashmere turtleneck that provided a beautiful contrast to both the colour and tailoring of his vivid green Prada mohair suit.

Rami Malek: For the Tokyo premiere of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody,’ the actor wore a Dior Men bold blue notch lapel suit with ‘Signature’ stitch on jacket lapel. By simply adding the blue shirt this look instantly become contemporary and mind-blowing.

Jake Gyllenhaal: The actor joined Mandy Moore at the Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration Live event. Out of these guys, Jake’s look was the most surprising, as classic suits in navy or black are very much his thing. Stepping out of his comfort zone, his Gucci green suit was perhaps styled with a white tee in an attempt to give this look a less formal feel, but a crewneck sweater in a contrasting hue – like eggplant or burnt orange – would’ve worked better for me.

Jessica Barden In Gucci – BAFTA Breakthrough Brits Reception

Jessica Barden In Gucci - BAFTA Breakthrough Brits Reception

Jessica Barden joined Gemma Arterton on the red carpet for the BAFTA Breakthrough Brits reception on Wednesday (November 7) in London.

This Gucci Resort 2019 dress successfully interlaces the past with the present with the ’70s floral print illuminated with bright colours and the bow continuing to be a defining feature of Gucci’s collections.

In those velvet blue pumps I couldn’t think of a better option for this dress.

You may remember that Salma Hayek Pinault wore a different version of this Gucci dress to the Franca Sozzani Award.

We couldn’t let the week go by without checking on these leading men..starting with Eddie Redmayne.

Eddie Redmayne: The British actor is the only person, excluding Tom Hiddleston, who can make me consistently swoon upon sight of him in a luxe Polo Ralph Lauren velvet tuxedo. He was by far the best dressed at the 2019 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony, despite him stating that his 8-month son isn’t allowing him time to get much sleep.

Jared Leto: We expected Jared Leto to attend the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala, but did we expect this white satin lapel Gucci suit with a matching hat? No, I actually expected more colour from him, so this served as quite a surprise. I have moments when I love this and moments when I want him to remove that hat.

Timothée Chalamet: At the Hollywood Film Awards the young actor wore a sharply tailored Louis Vuitton suit, but I was more intrigued by the embellished shirt, and thankful for shoes over sneakers.

2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala

2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala

There was plenty more glamour on display on the red carpet at the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala on Saturday (November 3) in Los Angeles, California, joining Kiki Layne, Zoe Kravitz and Rowan Blanchard.

Dakota Johnson: I know sheer yokes aren’t favoured by most, but this Gucci look could’ve translated as too heavy and gothic-like for Dakota without it.

Salma Hayek: Seeing Salma in this Gucci gold gown, it’s feels like it would’ve been perfect for the ’80s soap Dynasty. The jewel play their part too.

Rowan Blanchard In Gucci – 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala

Rowan Blanchard In Gucci - 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala

Rowan Blanchard was mixing eras at the 2018 LACMA Art + Film Gala at LACMA on Saturday (November 03) in Los Angeles, California.

The hair was saying roaring ’20s, while her Gucci Fall 2018 dress was giving a nod to the ’80s.

I love how the lame fabric that almost appear holographic and the bow accents emulate the decade’s love for strong silhouettes.

Everything about this look screams drama, including the makeup.

Rowan doesn’t usually make such strong statements, so I’m enjoying every element of this look.
