Cast Of ‘Grown-ish’ Visit The Empire State Building

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Cast Of 'Grown-ish' Visits The Empire State Building

Jordan Buhat, Emily Arlook, Chloe Bailey, Trevor Jackson, Halle Bailey and Luka Sabbat of the cast of ‘Grown-ish’ visited The Empire State Building on Wednesday (January 2) in New York City.

I always find it interesting how the guys are all bundled up, while the girls braved the elements in this situation. And who can blame the girls, when they are rocking such uber cool looks.

I would want to show them off too.

Jordan Buhat: While I like the tan and the beige combo, I wish Jordan had opted for a cashmere sweater instead of a shirt here so the look didn’t feel so plain.

Emily Arlook: Plain is not a tag I would attribute to Emily’s Mary Katrantzou Fall 2018 dress. Inspired by the beginnings of modernism, the ‘Alta’ dress references an iconic poster from the Bauhaus period, yet the lettering and colour blocking pattern feels essentially modern. This figure-skimming style that features a neat high neckline and extra long sleeves – a house signature – was effortlessly styled with ankle boots.

Chloe X Halle In Valentino – 2018 American Music Awards

Chloe X Halle In Valentino - 2018 American Music Awards

Chloe and Halle Bailey are usually all about serving up avant-garde styles, but that wasn’t the case at the 2018 American Music Awards on Tuesday (October 9) in Los Angeles, California.

The singing sisters decided to make a stunning statement in modern minimalism with their Valentino Fall 2018 dresses in bold hues to highlight the artful, draped silhouette with urbane insouciance.

We’ve seen a lot of the floral looks from the collection, so it was refreshing to see looks that made up part of the collection’s block colours story.

Chloe Bailey & Halle Bailey In Iris van Herpen Haute Couture – 2018 MTV VMAs

Chloe Bailey & Halle Bailey In Iris van Herpen Couture - 2018 MTV VMAs

Chloe Bailey and Halle Bailey were as coordinated as ever at the 2018 MTV VMAs on Monday (August 20) in New York City.

You may recognize the signature swirly, engineered lines of boundaries-pushing designer Iris van Herpen in these two designs.

And, even though Chloe’s hails from the Fall 2017 Haute Couture collection and Halle’s from the Spring 2018 Haute Couture collection, you’d never know given how well they play off of each other.

Halle completed her look with Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Penelope’ sandals.

If I had to choose one, Chloe’s gown — despite the underboob — held a certain fascination with the undulating, sculptural effect through the bodice and the sleeves.

Chloe Bailey & Halle Bailey In Marc Jacobs – 2018 MTV Movie And TV Awards

Chloe Bailey and Halle Bailey attended the 2018 MTV Movie And TV Awards on Saturday (June 16) in Santa Monica, California.

The sisters were twinning in vibrant Marc Jacobs Spring 2018 collection pieces.

While I’m drawn to the orange and yellow hues of Chloe’s look, I much prefer Halle’s look overall because of the styling.

From the opera gloves to the turban she totally rocked this look.

I would’ve loved Chloe’s look more sans opera gloves. They are not working with her look at all, therefore the styling feels forced.

2nd Annual Wearable Art Gala Red Carpet Roundup

At the 2nd Annual Wearable Art Gala on Saturday (March 17) in LA, Beyonce may have been Queen B with her undulating golden goddess gown. But, there were still plenty of fashion-minded femmes making waves there—and adopting the ‘Black Panther’ theme via their Wakanda-inspired looks.

Tina Knowles: Like mother, like daughter. Bey’s mom and Wearable Art Gala co-founder also went down a golden-bronze path—granted, a more subdued one—in this Jean-Louis Sabaji Spring 2018 Couture satin creation that was bedecked in a feathered cape for dramatic effect.

Chanel Celebrates the Chanel Beauty House and @WeLoveCoco

On Wednesday (February 28), Chanel hosted a cocktail party to debut the Chanel Beauty House in celebration of @WeLoveCoco, a new instagram community dedicated to user-generated beauty content.

Hollywood influencers showcased an array of styles from classic to more contemporary.

Ava Phillippe: This fresh take on Chanel signature boucle was injected with plenty of youthful flare thanks to her colourful accessories.

Kristen Stewart: While I love that the Chanel ambassador made this Pre-Fall 2018 look her own, a part of me wishes she kept the runway knitted boots.

Mackenzie Foy: Colour-blocking has never felt so fun and vibrant. Like Ava, Mackenzie’s accessories enhance the look.

‘Black Panther’ World Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

The highly anticipated world premiere of Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’ was on Monday (January 29) in Hollywood, California, which drew a veritable constellation of actresses to support the film’s stars Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, and Nabiyah Be.

Sydelle Noel: The actress opted for a golden goddess look in this shimmering Marc Bouwer gown, by which the cutouts made it a sleekly modern interpretation. The gold dress was one thing, but she channeled Vanessa Bell in ‘Coming To America’ even more so with her Imani-approved high ponytail hair.

Chloe Bennett: The high-shine aesthetic continued with Chloe’s Elisabetta Franchi Fall 2017 embellished gown, which wasn’t anything we haven’t seen. Yet, I like that she let the gown have its time in the spotlight by keeping her accessories -which included Neil J. Rodgers ‘Stella’ shoes and Monica Vinader jewels – to a minimum.

Cobie Smulders: Also getting the glitz memo, Cobie glittered in a Markarian Pre-Fall 2018 grock that offered a fresher silhouette by virtue of its sharp lines and side slit. The minimalistic styling – Jimmy Choo ‘Ellipse’ clutch and ‘Minny’ sandals – also served her quite well here, as the dress was the main attraction.

Halle Bailey & Chloe Bailey In Tracy Reese – ‘Grown-ish’ LA Premiere

Chloe and Halle Bailey, the superstar singing sisters signed to Beyonce’s label Parkwood, will star as recurring characters on the Yara Shahidi-lead series ‘Grown-ish’, so they were also at the premiere on Wednesday (December 13) in LA.

The sisters with style were both mad for plaid wearing Tracy Reese Fall 2017 suits, but it’s their accessories which grabbed my attention.

Halle opted for the Solace London Spring 2018 ‘Sutton’ envelope bag in pink, while Chloe rocked a Solace London Spring 2018 ‘Kally’ navy belt.

I have a feeling these accessories will eerk the majority, but I’m all for self expression and thinking outside the box.

However, I will say that Chloe’s navy piece feels better co-ordinated to her look.

Halle topped off her look with Stella Luna Spring 2018 ‘Eventail Sleek’ booties.

The Teen Vogue Summit LA: Keynote Conversation

A number of starlets turned out for the Teen Vogue Summit LA: Keynote Conversation with ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ director Ava Duvernay and actresses Storm Reid and Rowan Blanchard on Saturday (December 2) in Playa Vista, California.

Storm Reid: The 14-year-old PYT had fun with shimmery fringe in a JI OH Spring 2017 dress with white booties. But, I was most interested in her beautiful curls.

Yara Shahidi: I like that Yara introduced this zesty lime-green hue into her 3.1 Phillip Lim ensemble with the on-trend, navy paper-bag waist trousers.

Elaine Welteroth: Also channeling the retro flair of white boots, Elaine put a funky twist on the pink primness of her Proenza Schouler Spring 2018 wrap dress which Ana de Armas previously has worn. As with Storm, I was more focused on her hair, which made the look more striking as a result.

Halle Bailey and Chloe Bailey In Rodarte – 2017 Glamour Women Of The Year Awards

Halle Bailey and Chloe Bailey were showcasing fashion unity for Glamour’s 2017 Women of The Year Awards on Monday (November 13) in Brooklyn, New York.

Both wore hand knit halter dresses, paired with a scarf and trousers from the Rodarte Spring 2018 collection; stopping short of twinning in the same colour.

Despite the similarities, their individuality is clear to see for me. Halle is more sweet and chic, while Chloe has a bit of an edge.

Halle styled her look with peep-toe sandals while Chloe added a kick with to her Malone Souliers ‘Maureen’ pumps in a bright cerise-pink satin with metallic straps.

Chloe and Halle Bailey In Elie Saab – 3rd Annual InStyle Awards

Chloe and Halle Bailey were twinning on the red carpet for the 3rd Annual InStyle Awards on Monday (October 23) in Los Angeles, California.

Both ladies opted for Elie Saab Resort 2018 dresses in a pretty seafoam hue with matching nude sandals.

Chloe Bailey: While still characteristically prim, the asymmetrical layers adds a directional, playful twist proving that Elie can do more than fit-and-flare when it comes to cocktail dresses.

Halle Bailey: I love how the delicate lace and point d’esprit detailing gives this floor-length piece a fantasy quality. Like her sister, Halle styled her look with some stunning statement earrings.

As always, both are utterly charming.

Chloe Bailey and Halle Bailey In Ms MIN – 2017 BET Awards

Sister duo Chloe and Halle Bailey attended the 2017 BET Awards on Sunday (June 25) in LA.

The pair looked co-ordinated in their respective Ms MIN dresses – despite stepping out in different colours – with striking Rodarte shoes giving their looks some edge while adding an element of cohesion.

Subtle differences, like their Jennifer Fisher jewels, nail colours, and hairstyles, kept these looks from being too matchy-matchy, but I have a feeling their twinning toga-style looks won’t be to everyone’s liking.

I, however, was won over by the styling.
