2020 SAG Awards Menswear

 2020 SAG Awards Menswear

As always, the men were bringing their A-game to the 2020 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 19) in LA.

Pedro Pascal:  There was a time when I used think men going to a formal event without a tie was unkempt, but is proving to be quite a sleek and modern trend in menswear.  This was proven by Pedro who was looking very handsome in his dunhill silvery grey half wrap jacket, white silk strap collar shirt and black trouser look, which he styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Greggo Orlato’ shoes and an Omega watch.

Caleb McLaughlin:  You can always rely on boys from ‘Stranger Things’ to impress on the red carpet, and Caleb, much like his co-star Noah Schnapp, did just that in this bold blue Berluti Spring 2020 suit.  I like that he made the look his own with the black mock neck sweater.  Some might be thrown off by the shorter trousers, but I feel like he pulls it off.

Casey Thomas Brown: I had never heard of Casey Thomas Brown before.  But a bold shoulder Vincent Wong look is always likely to grab my attention.  Quarterback shoulders…call them what you like but I’m really impressed with this. It’s a risk that paid off, right down to the shinny satin trousers.  It’s refreshing to see that men aren’t afraid to do something different.

Dacre Montgomery:  It’s quite an achievement to wear a white suit without looking like you are a waiter an event, but Dacre was looking very dapper in his Dolce & Gabbana suit styled with David Yurman jewels.  His partner Liv Pollock was bringing her own sauce in this flamenco-inspired frock.

Taron Egerton: Even with a slightly skewiff bow-tie, Taron was still one of the smarted dressed men at this event wearing Brunello Cucinelli.

Josh O’Connor: ‘The Crown’ actor continued to serve us a quintessential British look via the Spanish luxury brand Loewe, wearing a bespoke navy blue double-breasted wool suit, featuring a black silk tie with an intriguing pearl detail.

Finn Wolfhard:  Unlike this ‘Stranger Things’ co-stars, Finn kept in thing more classic in Gucci.

Mahershala Ali: Fresh from the Ermenegildo Zegna XXX Fall 2020 Milan fashion week show, the actors journey proved not to be a fruitfulness one, as he arrived wearing a custom navy velvet, floral print suit styled with Bruno Magli Picasso Camo loafers, Oliver Peoples MP-2 shades and Montblanc watch.  He was easily the coolest man in the room.

Sterling K. Brown:  Perhaps I spoke too soon. As Sterling was giving Mahershala a run for his money in the “cool department” wearing an 18th Amendment suit which feels very sharp and smart thanks to the Prince of Wales blazer with contrast lapels. Christian Louboutin ‘Dandelion Strass’ black velvet loafers with strass toe cap and an Omega watch completed his look.

Dan Levy:  Even if Dan didn’t wear the Dior Men coat featuring a Alexander Foxton’s tufted placed embroidery, this look would still be one of the best at this event due to the crisp tailoring of his ‘Tailleur Oblique’ Dior Men Resort 2020 suit. Cutler and Gross glasses and Dior Fine Jewelry completed his look.

Bobby Cannavale: You don’t get more classic than a Dolce & Gabbana double breasted suit.

Alfie Allen: The British actor wore a very smart Ermenegildo Zegna XXX suit, but he lost me when I spotted the necklace.

Joe Keery: The actor kept things surprisingly simple in Saint Laurent.

Charlie Heaton:  The same applies to Charlie.
