I’m all for taking style risks and standing out from the crowd — when it works. I’m not sure that was the case with Charlotte Gainsbourg’s walk on the wild side at the opening ceremony and ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ premiere of the 2019 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday (May 14).
With Javier Bardem (Ermenegildo Zegna XXX) at her side, she rocked a Saint Laurent Fall 2019 sequin mini dress that would have been considered dangerously short for the MTV EMAs much less Cannes.
Of course, that wasn’t the only eye-catching thing about her entrance, considering its bold zebra print styled with sheer YSL tights and sky-high stilettos.
Given that Charlotte loves a leggy look, this short frock was somewhat expected — even if it seemed better fitting for a completely different event.
