‘Miu Miu Women’s Tales #7 – #8′ Venice Film Festival Premiere

'Miu Miu Women's Tales #7 - #8' - Premiere - 71st Venice Film Festival

A collection of six starlets were at the ‘Miu Miu Women’s Tales #7-#8’ premiere, held during the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy on Thursday (August 28). Naturally, all were representing the label, donning a range of Miu Miu looks that couldn’t have each been more different if they tried.

Dakota Fanning: The trendsetting starlet wore a Miu Miu creamy white satin sheath dress with beaded embellishment, paired with nude platform Miu Miu pumps and a bejeweled grass-green Miu Miu clutch. I would have loved to see the same punch of colour in her shoe, along with an updo.

Kirsten Dunst: The actress went for a retro spin in an A-line Miu Miu dress featuring a funky blue and white swirl print. She accessorized with pops of silver via her clutch and sandals, not to mention the flash of those side-swept platinum locks.

Kate Mara: Donning the same nude platforms as Dakota, Kate wore hers with a nude Miu Miu dress with allover paillettes and a sparkling, decorative neckline. The design was pretty and carried with it a vintage flair, but the colour washed out her complexion, especially with her neutral makeup.

Felicity Jones: Her embellished, midnight-blue Miu Miu dress with sheer sleeves had the fall season written all over it. Black pointy pumps did nothing to lighten the look, but the actress did take a more summery, breezy approach to her barely-there makeup.

Lena Dunham: Once again opting for a head-scratcher of a look, the ‘Girls’ star didn’t exactly stand out for the right reasons in her sombre, daresay frumpy, patterned frock. The Prada dress and the flat, block-heel sandals aged her far beyond my liking—as did her beehive ’do.

Nicoletta Romanoff: The only one to really embrace what’s left of summer, Nicoletta was the most polished of the bunch in her flirty and youthful white ruffle blouse and lemon-yellow skirt by Miu Miu, paired with breezy waves and sun-kissed makeup. If I were to nitpick, I would have selected a colourful, fun sandal not this chunkier brown pair.

Alessandra Ambrosio In Alberta Ferretti – ‘La Rancon De La Gloire’ Premiere

Alessandra Ambrosio In Alberta Ferretti - 'La Rancon De La Gloire' Premiere

Alessandra Ambrosio took to the red carpet at the 2014 Venice Film Festival for the ‘La Rancon De La Gloire’ premiere in Venice, Italy on Thursday (August 28).

The supermodel strutted out a cherry-hued Alberta Ferretti high-low gown that carried with it some element of laidback grace, elevated by a sparkling Chopard collar necklace.

The Brazilian stunner can work any ensemble to her advantage, but this one didn’t necessarily lend many favours with its folded, flattened bodice.

The rich colour had me at hello; but I could have easily said goodbye to the silhouette, fabrication and those Salvatore Ferragamo black pumps.

Lei Hao In Blumarine – ‘Dearest’ Venice Film Festival Photocall

Lei Hao In Blumarine - 'Dearest' Venice Film Festival Photocall

Lei Hao joined Zhao Wei at the ‘Dearest’ photocall, hosted during the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy on Thursday (August 28).

The Chinese actress wore a Blumarine Spring 2014 nude sheer gown with white floral embroidery, which has been previously worn by Kacy Musgraves, Bella Thorne and Kimberley Walsh.

Unfortunately, the fourth run of the dress is my least favourite. The underlying corseted bodice is cutting an uncomfortably tight profile, and the platform pumps more or less defeat the purpose of this diaphanous, delicate creation.

I’m also still trying to understand why she opted to wear a necklace with this dress, as it only served to distract from the illusion detail—as did the visible tattoo on her arm.
