2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

Here is a roundup from the 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday (November 26) in New York City, which was also attended by Regina Hall and Kathryn Hahn.

Rachel Weisz: What may surprise you is that Rachel’s Michael Kors Collection white-and-black gown is covered with micro sequins. The new mum is looking as gorgeous as always.

Uzo Aduba: I really love this Balmain look for Uzo. The colour is gorgeous on her, and the embellishments really inject some glamour into this fairly simple design by the fashion house.

Kiki Layne: There were more embellishment to be had on this red carpet thanks to Kiki in her striking Miu Miu look. She’s looking like a young Whitney Houston here about to belt out ‘I Will Always Love You.’

Patricia Clarkson In Viktor & Rolf Soir - 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

Patricia Clarkson joined a host of stars at the 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday (November 26) in New York City.

The actress usually loves colour, however she opted for the black and navy version of this Viktor & Rolf Soir embroidered bow draped dress from the Resort 2019 collection.

As we’ve noted from the Armani Prive Spring 2017 collection, celebs seem to avoid orange. Only Cressida Bonas and Kacey Musgraves have been so bold in recent times.

This is another case of prefer the look book, but feel she made the right choice.

Jimmy Choo pumps completed her look.

Regina Hall In Pamella Roland – 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

Regina Hall was one of the guest presenters at the 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday (November 26) in New York City.

I understand why Regina opted for the shorter version of this Pamella Roland Resort 2019 dress, as the Oscars aren’t quite upon us just yet, but I do prefer look book version.

I feel like it flows better, but that’s taking nothing away from how beautiful Regina looks here.

Sparkling Louboutins, an Edie Parker clutch and Effy jewels completed her look.

Elsie Fisher In A.L.C. - 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

Elsie Fisher picked up the Breakthrough Actor prize at the 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday (November 26) in New York City, for her role in ‘Eighth Grade.’

Opting for her second suiting option in a row, the young actress wore a vibrant A.L.C. Fall 2018 suit in a bright pink hue.

While I love the suit, I wasn’t crazy about the accessories.

Both were picked keep the look youthful, but the Kate Spade New York ‘Nicola’ shoulder bag didn’t fit with the power suit, and the black Stella Luna ‘Stella Stripe’ ankle boots felt too heavy.

Kathryn Hahn In Gabriela Hearst – 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

Kathryn Hahn In Gabriela Hearst - 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards

Kathryn Hahn was feeling very blue at the 2018 Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday (November 26) in New York City.

The actress wore a Gabriela Hearst ‘Alameda’ coat dress suspended from an off-the-shoulder neckline, which was simple, yet chic.

Styled with the brands cult ‘Demi’ bag as worn by Zoe Kravitz, Diane Lane, Demi Moore, Mandy Moore, Anne Hathaway and Oprah Winfrey to name a few, the look was complete with suede pumps and Irene Neuwirth jewelry.

If you’re having a mild case of déjà vu, that’s probably because the off-the-shoulder neckline is similar to a suit Elizabeth Olsen wore back in August last year.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

There were plenty of gents showcasing their sartorial styles on the red carpet over the last two days.

Garrett Hedlund: Dressed for the Gotham Awards, I found myself overly distracted by the bed hair to pay too much attention to his windowpane Dolce & Gabbana suit and Christian Louboutin ‘Roadie’ boots.

Harry Styles: The one person you can never accuse of playing it safe when it comes to suiting is Harry Styles. The singer, who performed at the ARIA Awards today, was looking very dapper in his bespoke Alexander McQueen multicolour paisley double-breasted suit. And the suaveness and 60s inspo didn’t end there, as he styled the look with metallic bronze boots.

Timothée Chalamet: The young actor and Berluti appear to be a match made in fashion heaven. His burgundy Berluti Fall 2017 suit was exquisitely textured in velvet to present a smart look with contemporary flair. Timothée’s suit was styled with a cashmere sweater and ‘Austin’ boots all from Berluti.
