Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

With so many film premieres, the men were out representing on the red carpet over this last week. Here’s a look at what they’ve been wearing.

Bradley Cooper: At the ‘A Star Is Born ‘premiere during the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain on Saturday (September 29), Bradley was on his suave best in this navy Corneliani suit.

Nicholas Hoult: The actor can work a patterned dress shirt like no other, and this orange-accented one definitely pumped up his blue Prada tailoring at the premiere of ‘The Favourite’ in New York City on Friday (September 28).

Riz Ahmed: I will always love an aubergine suit, and Riz’s was an especially rich shade, with glossy Christian Louboutin loafers to polish it off at the premiere of ‘Venom’ in Westwood, California on Monday (October 1).

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

As more events take place across the globe, we have more menswear looks to discuss.

Rami Malek: The actor joined Allison Williams at The New (Montblanc M)RED Collection launch on Thursday (September 27) in New York City. Rather than playing into the red theme he showed tailored restraint in a buttoned-up Dior ensemble with collar detailing replacing a tie.

Alexander Skarsgard: The Swedish actor looked casually cool in Prada at the screening of Netflix’s ‘Hold the Dark’ on Wednesday (September 26) in New York City. The forest green is a smashing shade with his colouring.

Juliette Binoche In Chloe & Alberta Feretti Limited Edition – ‘High Life’ San Sebastian Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Juliette Binoche In Chloe & Alberta Feretti Limited Edition - 'High Life' San Sebastian Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

She might be partial to black and white, but Juliette Binoche was in a regal red mood as she promoted ‘High Life’ at the San Sebastian Film Festival on Thursday (September 27).

Photocall: The actress kept things fluid for day in a Chloe Resort 2019 blouse and Fall 2018 trousers. It’s a polished bohemian look but the placement of the zips might kill the ensemble for some. They don’t completely distract from the flowing trousers.

Premiere: Increasing the intensity for evening, the French beauty donned a scarlet Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Fall 2018 gown. I’m thrilled she opted for the rich colour rather than the white runway version which would have been in her wheelhouse.

Blanca Suarez In Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Collection & Pedro del Hierro – ‘Tiempo Despues’ San Sebastian Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Blanca Suarez In Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Collection & Pedro del Hierro - 'Tiempo Despues' San Sebastian Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Blanca Suarez has been busy promoting ‘Tiempo Despues’ at the San Sebastian Film Festival on Tuesday (September 25).

Photocall: This Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Collection Spring 2018 suit had the glitz and glam to work for the premiere. She tried to take it down to daytime with the crop top and sunglasses. I wish she had worn the jacket properly to better showcase the zigzagging detail.

Premiere: Switching directions, the Spanish beauty donned a Pedro del Hierro Spring 2019 dress for a darker, more sensual take on princess styling. The plunging neckline served as a frame for her cleavage and Piaget jewels. The silver shoes bring out the necklace, but the frock would have still shone without the bling.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

With premieres happening from California to Spain and back again, the men were out to celebrate the movies.

Timothée Chalamet: Continuing the success of his last embroidered suit, the young actor wore an Alexander McQueen Resort 2019 powder-blue suit with cherry-blossom embroidery at the ‘Beautiful Boy’ premiere at the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain on Monday (September 24). The McQueen sneakers featured red at the heels, adding a dose of urban edge to the look.

Ryan Gosling: Even though we know how much Ryan loves a burnt-orange suit, he skipped it this time out at the ‘First Man’ photocall on Monday (September 24) during the San Sebastian Film Festival. But, he still rocked the same swagger we love with this retro-mod patterned sweater and navy Gucci suit.

Bradley Cooper: At the LA premiere of ‘A Star is Born’ on Monday (September 24), Bradley also worked his powder-blue angles in this Gucci three-piece suit that had a vintage mood. Christian Louboutin dress shoes completed the look.

Claire Foy In Rosetta Getty & Stella McCartney – ‘First Man’ San Sebastian Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Claire Foy was joined by Ryan Gosling in Spain on Monday (September 24) where they promoted ‘First Man’ during the 2018 San Sebastian Film Festival.

Photocall: I feel like this Rosetta Getty leather dress wants to have a biker chick alter-ego, but remains simple and chic especially when styled with nude sandals.

Premiere: Stella McCartney’s dark-green ‘Paulina’ velvet gown provided effortless glamour from every angle. My only wish for this look was a shorter necklace.

Ryan Gosling Loves Burnt Orange Suits

Ryan Gosling Loves His Gucci Suit

While the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Chadwick Boseman, Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston, and most recently Henry Golding are continuing to set the standard when it comes to red carpet menswear, Ryan Gosling is still one of the most stylish men alive.

Why?

Because he nails it at every turn.

I noticed that the actor opted to wear a similar version of his burnt orange Gucci suit for the San Sebastian Film Festival premiere of ‘First Man’ on Monday (September 24) in Spain, having worn one during Venice Film Festival.

Why does he manage to make this look work?

It’s a heady mix of bring his own brand of swagger that’s marries ease and elegant, with a sprinkle of retro and modern.

This current vintage style statement is serving him very well, and perhaps it is associated with the movie, or an influence from his girlfriend Eva Mendes.

Do you agree that he is nailing this current look, or do you miss the movie star James Bond-esqe glamour we closely associated him with so long?
