Front Row @ Chanel Pre-Fall 2019

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon feature the Front Row @ Chanel Pre-Fall 2019

The Chanel Pre-Fall 2019 fashion show took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Wednesday (December 5). The front row was a sight to behold with a range of breathtaking looks.

Margot Robbie: After wearing the designer to the ‘Mary Queen of Scots’ New York premiere, the Australian beauty donned a voluminous Chanel Spring 2019 dress. With its trapeze silhouette and frills it had a light-as-air feel, but the black helped ground the look and give it a more formal finish.

Penelope Cruz: The Spanish actress might not have had the easiest time sitting in this Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 gown but the feather-adorned style made a statement. She removed the delicate pink belt, but I’m curious to see how it would have looked with a darker style.

Front Row @ Versace Pre-Fall 2019

Pre-Fall collections are perhaps seen as the less interesting or sexy of all the collections presented, but now it seems that they are just as important at Fall and Spring, with big budget shows and A-list front rows.

Following Dior Men and Valentino last week, Versace presented their Pre-Fall 2019 collection in New York City on Sunday (December 2).

Diane Kruger: What a way to showcase your post-baby figure, in a Versace Spring 2019 mini no less. I can’t say the chunky belt is working for me here, but she’s still looking every inch a yummy mummy.

Ciara: While this Spring 2019 Versace suit showcases the brand tailoring, I would’ve loved something a bit more extravagant from Ciara, but the Versace medallion necklace and ruffle hem did prevent this from being a snooze.

Blake Lively: The actress shelved her favoured suit for an iconic Versace chainmail dress from the Spring 1999 collection. I love the ’90s spirit imbued in this look from the dress to the bountiful curls. I just wish she’d eased up on the jewels.

The Dior darlings were out in force at the Christian Dior Spring 2019 show during Paris Fashion Week on Monday (September 24) in France.

Shailene Woodley: As was fitting, the actress epitomized Parisian-chic style — with an edge — in this Christian Dior Cruise 2019 ensemble paired with a Dior wool beret, black leather ‘Saddle’ belt, black Dior ‘Amour’ pumps, and a Dior ‘Toile de Jouy’ ‘Saddle’ bag. Completed by a red lip, this ensemble was everything it should be and more.

Dree Hemingway: Also in a Christian Dior Cruise 2019 look, Dree’s ensemble offered an experimental take on textures and proportions with a chunky sweater and tulle slip skirt. Her accessories kept the quirky vibe going with the navy oblique ‘Saddle’ belt pouch and ‘WalkN’ Dior sneakers.

Blake Lively
: As we won’t comment on the fact that she’s wearing a dress instead of a suit, the actress donned a Christian Dior Fall 2018 multi-coloured embroidered tulle design that got a dose of extra intrigue with the addition of the sculptural Dior Pre-Fall 2018 metallic caged skirt. A Dior Cruise 2019 bag completed this take on modern femininity.

Blake Lively In Chanel – ‘C to You’ Show

Blake Lively In Chanel - 'C to You' Show

Blake Lively was captured leaving her hotel to go to the recording of the show ‘C to You’ in Paris on Wednesday (September 19).

On this occasion the suit-loving ‘A Simple Favor’ actress wore a grey suit and coat from Chanel’s Pre-Fall 2018 collection, styled with a pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Goyetta’ pumps, a Chanel flower bag, Chanel Fine jewels and a Chanel ‘Boyfriend’ watch.

In essence, the look is very smart, but the coat makes everything feel a bit bulky, and with the high neckline, maybe a slick back ‘do would’ve worked better.

I wanted to thank all of you who took the time to defend my joke about Blake and her suits on various instagrams like Entertainment Tonight and E News, and those who forwarded the Lainey Gossip article, which I urge you all to read when you have time.

I’m not upset by any means, so thanks for your concern. You guys rock for having my back.

An American friend of mine said that you just can’t say what you want in this day and age, even if it’s a joke.

But I’m gonna keep doing me, as I don’t know who else to be.

Blake Lively In Rag & Bone – Out In Paris

Blake Lively In Rag & Bone - Out In Paris

After opting to wear a skirt for the first time in 30 days, Blake Lively reverted back to familiar territory while out promoting her new film, ‘A Simple Favor’ in Paris today (September 20).

If you didn’t get the golden-brown silk scarf with her last look, you will with her Rag & Bone Fall 2018 velvet suit.

The colour complements her olive look seamlessly, which looks beautiful against the backdrop of Paris city streets as the leaves are turning brown.

You’ve been critical of most of her suits, so how does this one fare?

Blake Lively In Christian Dior – Dior’s Head Office

Blake Lively In Christian Dior - Dior Boutique

If you saw the title expecting another suit, prepare to be amazed, as Blake Lively broke her all-suit run which started exactly a month ago when she stunned us in Versace.

The actress, who had attended the Paris premiere for ‘A Simple Favor’ on Tuesday, was spotted leaving Dior’s head office in Paris today (September 20), wearing a look from the Christian Dior Resort 2019 collection.

I believe – please correct me if I’m wrong – that this is the first time Blake has worn Dior since 2010.

She may not be wearing a suit, but the menswear inspiration was still to be had in her blue-grey printed shirt that she tucked into a flowy tree print skirt.

The golden-brown silk scarf may not make sense to some, but it draws out the colour in her skirt, plus we’re are headed into Fall.

Blake accessorized her look with a green iconic Dior saddle bag and the nailhead-trimmed Valentino boots we’ve seen her wear with her Wolk Morais suit.

‘A Simple Favor’ Paris Premiere

'A Simple Favor' Paris Premiere

The Paris premiere for ‘A Simple Favor’ took place on Tuesday (September 20) with Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick in attendance.

Blake Lively: Following her Ralph Lauren look, I joked on Instagram that Blake was wearing her 1,356 suit of this promo tour to which – much to my surprise – she responded “Would you note a man wearing lots of suits during a promo tour? So why can’t a woman? Just sayinnnn. No double standards ladies.” This came a quite a shock considering I have loved pretty much every look during this promo tour, and that I have said repeatedly that I have admired her commitment to rocking suits throughout. I’m not sure of the actual number, but yet another suit was worn in the city of lights. After the summery pink in London, the mood turned to Fall in this teal and black embroidered look. What do I love about this look? The sleekness, the sexiness, the cut and the fit. But the dual-colour loose tie didn’t work for me. Maria Tash jewels and strappy Louboutins completed her look.

Anna Kendrick: I have always been a great admirer of Antonio Berardi, but this Fall 2018 design didn’t quite work for me on Anna. Had she modified the look – removing the train – I have a strong belief this would’ve worked. As it is, the look feels so overwhelming.
