2019 BAFTAs Menswear Roundup

2019 BAFTAs Menswear Roundup

We cannot forget about the men’s striking looks at the 2019 BAFTAs on Sunday (February 10) in London, England.

Timothee Chalamet: Ever the fashion darling, I expected nothing less than for the ‘Beautiful Boy’ actor to make a statement. The clashing patterns and cropped trousers of his Haider Ackermann Fall 2019 look was fun-meets-punk.

Mahershala Ali: The ‘Green Book’ actor looked suave in Tom Ford. The textured brocade made the classic monochromatic colours something special.

Lakeith Stanfield: Outfitted in Saint Laurent, the Rising Star nominee demonstrated his sartorial skills. The black velvet shoes with plush jacket bring things together without becoming too matchy-matchy.

Front Row @ Tom Ford Fall 2019

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Front Row @ Tom Ford Fall 2019

There was no shortage of bold looks on the front row of the Tom Ford Fall 2019 show on Wednesday (February 6) in New York City.

Karlie Kloss: The supermodel accented her waist in an intricate leopard corset belt. Coupled with the neutral dress and gold shoes, it exudes sultry elegance. The belt helps enliven the dress, but a shade or two darker would have made a difference in the frock.

Danai Gurira: After stopping by ‘Good Morning America’, she showed off sharp suiting at the fashion show. If I were to nitpick, the fit on the trousers is off given the way they’re bunching around the knees. Roger Vivier pumps completed her look.

Poppy Delevingne: The model-actress floated in her black separates. The accessories are fab but one almost wants them removed so the focus is solely on the cape detail and alluring open back.

Front Row @ dunhill Fall 2019

Fashion Blogger Catherine Kallon features Front Row @ dunhill Fall 2019

dunhill presented their Fall 2019 fashion show during Paris menswear fashion week, and they invited some of Hollywood’s best dressed men to the event hosted on Sunday (January 20).

Stephan James: Three different colours and textures makes for one undeniably suave dunhill look. I know some of you feel the double coat is a little contrived – as stated on Allison Williams post – but it’s that cold in Europe that two coats feel mandatory.

Rami Malek: Also opting for silk faille skinny trousers, the Golden Globe winner’s dunhill look focuses on the vibrant print of his walnut dash shirt and mac combo, which immediately catches your eye within this trio.

Riz Ahmed: Casual, yet smart and on-trend, I feel myself forgiving Riz for those multi-colour dunhill ‘Radial Runner’ sneakers, when a simple white or navy pair would’ve been preferred.

2019 Golden Globe Awards Menswear Roundup

2019 Golden Globe Awards Menswear Roundup2

There were plenty of menfolk on the red carpet at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 6) in Beverly Hills, California, and I was delighted by the diversity of looks they offered up.

Ben Whishaw: Nominated for ‘A Very English Scandal,’ the actor was looking very fine in his Alexander McQueen embroidered suit styled so crisply with the dress shirt that you didn’t even miss the tie.

Stephan James: The ‘Homecoming’ star and nominee couldn’t have looked more dapper if he tried in this impeccably tailored Ralph Lauren Purple Label velvet suit styled supremely well with a Swarovski Odysseia pendant, Chopard timepiece, cufflinks and Christian Louboutin ‘Alpha Male’ toe-cap loafers.

Luke Evans: Also wearing an Alexander McQueen ensemble, Luke went for a slightly more traditional mood in his formal white dinner jacket with black lapels.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

While we saw a lot of experimental menswear looks last week, this week it was back to the classics.

Orlando Bloom: The actor joined his girlfriend Katy Perry at the amfAR Gala in Los Angeles wearing a Canali navy blue tuxedo with worlds smallest bow tie.

Joe Alwyn: The actor looked very dashing in his blue double breasted suit with a black knit for a very suave take on red carpet dressing for ‘The Favourite’ London premiere, where he joined his co-star Emma Stone.

Robert Pattinson: After this brief experimentation with short and rubber sole shoes, Rob was back to classic suiting in a Dior Men navy notch lapel suit with a DiorMen transparent striped navy technical tulle shirt. What a shame he buttoned up his blazer.
