Keke Palmer Wore Roberto Cavalli To The ‘I Love Boosters’ SXSW Premiere
Keke Palmer joined Demi Moore and Naomi Ackie on the red carpet for the I Love Boosters premiere during the SXSW Conference & Festivals in Austin, Texas on Thursday.

You will not be surprised to learn that this yellow silk side cut-out gown with crystal and metallic embellishments comes from the Roberto Cavalli Spring 2005 archives, and this is its second run on the red carpet.
You might be thinking it was previously worn by JLo, Beyoncé, or Rihanna. All reasonable guesses. But the dress was first worn by Sheryl Crow at the 2005 Grammys.

If you grew up during Cavalli’s mid-2000s heyday, you will remember how typical this kind of design was for the brand, and how widely these slinky cut-out gowns were embraced on red carpets, especially at events like the Grammys.
I like the colour on Keke, and the dress fits within her ongoing archive glamour remit. It also continues her very specific affection for Roberto Cavalli’s back catalogue. That said, I am not quite as excited by this as I expected to be.
It is not exactly the same dress, which we can all see. In fact, it reads more like a recreation of the original rather than the actual off-runway piece, and that impression largely comes from the fabric looking noticeably less rich (cheaper), rather than from any difference in the embellishments.
