Teyana Taylor Wore Sabina Bilenko Couture To The 2026 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards
Teyana Taylor didn’t walk the red carpet, but she was on hand to present her One Battle After Another co-star Chase Infiniti with the Rising Star honour at the 2026 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards.
For the occasion, the actress wore a Sabina Bilenko Spring 2026 Couture sheer gown.
If I’m being honest, this one didn’t quite land for me. When you stack it up against everything she has delivered throughout this awards season, it feels surprisingly underwhelming.
The nude illusion base embroidered with black butterflies is delicate, but on Teyana it doesn’t quite have the impact we’re used to from her. This season she has been setting an incredibly high bar for herself, so this felt like a rare moment where the look didn’t rise to meet her.
It also doesn’t help that the dress reads far stronger on the runway image. The model benefits from the clean styling, no visible tattoos, and softer lighting, whereas the stage lighting here makes the illusion base look harsher and punches up some of the intricate detailing.
