Maggie Gyllenhaal Wore Miu Miu To ‘The Bride!’ New York Premiere

Director Maggie Gyllenhaal joined Jessie Buckley for The Bride! New York premiere last night.

While the most surprising thing Maggie could do on this press tour would be to wear a colour other than black, I have to say she is at least keeping things interesting within that comfort zone.

Her Miu Miu gown might have slipped quietly under the radar had it not been for those crystal embroidered taffeta sleeves, which immediately draw the eye and give the look its defining character. The detail that doesn’t try to steal the spotlight, yet injects just enough glamour worthy of a New York premiere.

Without them the gown would feel almost too understated for the occasion, but the sculptural sparkle on the sleeves lifts the look and gives it a sense of occasion while still feeling very much like Maggie.
