I get what she was aiming for—there’s a definite retro nod here—but the stiff, boxy cut just doesn’t land for me. Instead of playful 1960s charm, it veers into schoolteacher-meets-librarian territory, with a hint of early mod that’s missing the youthful swing to really pull it off.
What makes it even more of a missed opportunity is her new pixie cut. On paper, this hairstyle should have been the perfect partner to a mod-inspired look. Instead, the dress feels weighed down by its structure, leaving the hair and outfit working against each other rather than in harmony.
Then there’s the colour story. Brown is very much having its moment this season, but brown-and-blue gingham paired with red mesh Le Silla Vittoria pumps feels like a collision of moods and eras. Two different stories competing in one outfit.
