Alexis Bledel made a welcome return to the red carpet, shimmering in a Marmar Halim Pre-Fall 2025 silver beaded strapless column gown. It was clean, classic, and elegant — the kind of understated glamour that suits her perfectly.
Timeless glow in sequins and crystals
Angela Bassett had similar ideas with her Yara Shoemaker Fall 2025 Couture gown with crystal paneling. The woman doesn’t age. Truly radiant, though I do wish for skin-tone underwear to fully perfect it.
Gorgeous colour, lacklustre design
Britt Lower had a strong Severance press tour, so was underwhelmed by her custom Calvin Klein Collection gown. In burnt copper the colour was gorgeous but the crushed lines and uninspired shape did her no favours. David Yurman jewels completed the look.
Wiederhoeft whimsy
Brittany Snow lifted the mood in Wiederhoeft Spring 2025 — a pink shimmering gown with the label’s signature draped bodice. Pretty, feminine, and playful with David Yurman jewels.
Still In Addams Mode
Catherine Zeta-Jones kept her Morticia Addams energy alive in Yara Shoemaker Fall 2025 Couture. The scalloped corseted bodice, lace, and tulle gave this black gown a sensual edge.
Metallic cool
Charlotte Le Bon’s Courréges Fall 2025 silver embellished dress felt exactly on brand — cool, Parisian, and not interested in big gowns. The beige sock booties, however, were a miss.
Perfect proportions, Browne brilliance
Chase Sui Wonders gave me one of the night’s highlights in custom Thom Browne. Perfectly fitted, perfectly cut — the hem length was sublime, avoiding that dreaded ripple. A standing ovation for all involved. Tiffany & Co. jewels topped it off.
yes to the dress, no to the hair
Elizabeth Banks went bold in this Rabanne Fall 2025 dress. It was working, especially with Jimmy Choo Inge sandals echoing the metallic and black palette. But the hair was a bit cheesy and didn’t match the vibe.
Dreamy dress
Jenny Slate won me over in Rosie Assoulin, as the gown’s romantic lines floating effortlessly. But the hairstyle let it down — slicked-back hair or finger waves would have transformed this. Anita Ko jewels and Roger Vivier Jewel Heel sandals sealed the look.
Sheer perfection in Herrera
Justine Lupe’s Carolina Herrera Fall 2025 netted and embellished gown is now the gold standard for sheer done right. Effortless. Anita Ko jewels completed the look.
’50s bow, modern grace
Katherine LaNasa delivered retro elegance in custom Jason Wu Collection gown. With its strapless neckline, full skirt, and oversized satin bow, it echoed Dior’s New Look era — debutante glamour updated for today. Fred Leighton jewels completed the effect.
Espresso elegance
Kathy Bates wore an espresso brown custom Vera Wang refined gown. The asymmetrical shawl collar gave it structure, while the Watteau back added a regal sweep that elevated the whole look. Rahaminov Diamonds were the finishing touch.
Triple silver shine, straightforward chic
Michelle Monaghan sparkled in custom silver Rabanne by Julien Dossena dress. Styled with the Iconic Silver 1969 Nano bag and De Beers jewelry, it was simple but striking in its triple metallic shine.

Quinta Brunson wore a Louis Vuitton dress with embroidered cross straps and cut-out detail. A strong and distinct choice, paired with Louis Vuitton Fine Jewelry.
Sauna chic
Rita Ora gave the impression she’d just stepped out of a steam room and thrown on this Miu Miu dress. Hearts On Fire Jewelry completed the look.
Youthful brand, aging cut
Miu Miu has always carried a youthful spirit, but this beaded dress aged Sarah Catherine Hook. The silhouette is what lets it down.

Sheryl Lee Ralph was radiant in custom blue Diane von Furstenberg dress with Baronessa Fine Jewelry. Her look was joyful, flattering and commanding.

Uzo Aduba looked beautiful in a strapless black-and-pink Safiyaa gown. Structured, bold, and striking, paired with A.Jaffe jewels.
