Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

From awards galas to premieres and more, there were plenty of occasions for the men to be out in force on the red carpet. Here’s a look at the men who have been front and centre.

Justin Timberlake: Proving that the velvet trend isn’t just for the ladies, Justin cut a thoroughly suave profile in this dark-green velvet Tom Ford tuxedo at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood. I love this luxe twist on the classic tux.

Jason Momoa: Although his styling may have been more in the manner of edgy-bohemian, Jason’s custom Valentino tuxedo was quite smooth and polished at the ‘Justice League’ LA premiere on Monday (November 13).

Jared Leto: It’s Jared Leto and it’s an MTV event, so it’s only natural that he would go sartorially wild at the 2017 MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 12) in London with his latest Gucci endeavor—a Fall 2017 look that was even more subversively rebellious than the runway presentation. The colour discord between the lavender, bubblegum, and red track pants made me want to shield my eyes—and we haven’t even gotten to the tidy-whitey sneakers.

Who Was Your Best Dressed At The Governors Awards?

9th Annual Governors Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The long list of stars continued at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California. Here, a look at the rest of the glamorous ensembles that graced the red carpet.

Jessica Chastain: Flame-red locks and a flame-red gown made for a perfected, fiery match in this Alexander McQueen gown that was topped off with even more elegantly sultry attitude in her red lip.

Kristen Wiig: I’m not sure this Galvan London Fall 2017 velvet gown photographed as well as it could have. But, I still liked her embrace of the daring plunge and the pairing of the Atelier Swarovski by Christopher Kane jewels and Djula diamond hoops.

Sarah Paulson: Channeling a gothic twist on glamour, Sarah showed off the darkly sophisticated side of Miu Miu with this embellished, bold-shoulder gown that was finished in similar mood with an oxblood lip and a Tyler Ellis clutch.

Margot Robbie In Altuzarra & Prada – 9th Annual Governors Award

Margot Robbie cut a striking profile, as she walked the red carpet at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California.

I was immediately floored by the subtle seduction of her Altuzarra Fall 2017 floral-embroidered gown that was given a whimsically elegant finish in the Prada pale pink feather jacket from the Fall 2017 collection.

Oozing with effortlessly classic glamour, this kind of look was made for Margot.

I love how her easy waves and sultry makeup enhanced the sense of modernity with a light dusting of Sara Weinstock jewels only complementing rather than competing with the ensemble.

Saoirse Ronan In Ralph & Russo – 9th Annual Governors Awards

Saoirse Ronan attended the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California.

You may initially remember her Ralph & Russo Spring 2018 gown on the Red Carpet Wish List, as it was pegged for Suki Waterhouse.

But, Saoirse likewise wore this darker vision of glamour in top form.

I wouldn’t have thought to pair the midnight-black dress with the bright punch of turquoise, but her Irene Neuwirth earrings added a jolt of unexpected vibrancy to the look with old Hollywood waves to enhance the elegance.

I do think the compelling beauty of this gown is enhanced in movement to fully showcase the skirt’s sheer, sultry panel effect.

Tessa Thompson In Altuzarra – 9th Annual Governors Awards

Tessa Thompson joined the many celebrities at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California.

She’s no stranger to bold expressions of glamour, and here I would say she combined a love for decorative embellishment with a rich surplus of floral embroidery in this Altuzarra Fall 2017 gown.

Renaissance paintings inspired the collection, and that influence is captured in the silhouette and intricacy of motif.

To complete the embellished story, she added even more decoration in Sophia Webster ‘Lilico Crystal’ sandals and Irene Neuwirth jewels.
