2023 NAACP Image Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup from the 2023 NAACP Image Awards which took place on Saturday (February 25) in California.

It wasn’t only Janelle Monáe who subdued by her usual standards. 

Tracee Ellis Ross was also wearing simple Brandon Maxwell Fall 2023 keyhole dress styled with the runway cuffs and Christian Louboutin So Kate pumps.

I truly love all sides to her style.  The woman can do it all.

The colour purple was trending on this red carpet via Viola Davis, Issa Rae and Amirah Vann.

Amirah looked divine wearing an Eman Alajlan off-the-shoulder corseted gown with Le Vian jewelry.

As great as Angela Bassett looks in this Greta Constantine custom white long sleeve, v-neck jumpsuit.

I’m kinda hoping she gets these taffeta sleeve accents out of her system before the Oscars.

One of Kind Gismondi 1754 jewels completed her look. 

Coco Jones looked beautiful wearing a Saint Laurent one-shoulder cut out gown proving that cut-out gowns can look uber chic.

A L’AFSHAR clutch and strappy sandals completed her look.

You may remember that Nicole Kidman first wore this dress to the 2021 CMA Awards.

Dominique Thorne was sparkling from head-to-toe in Rami Kadi.

There were a lot of black dresses on this red carpet, but none as beautiful as Janelle James’ Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2023 embellished strapless dress.

Marsai Martin also blew me away in Christian Siriano.

I know some of you don’t rate him as a designer, but he never misses on the red carpet for me.

Some might say this is a little too mature for the 18 year old, but the drama has me in a trance.

From prom to disco, Quinta Brunson lit up the red carpet wearing a Dundas strapless ombré silver and gold fully embellished gown.

Regina Hall wore a Narces dress styled with a Tyler Ellis clutch, Melissa Kaye jewels and Stuart Weitzman sandals. 

Serena Williams wore a custom Brandon Blackwood velvet bustier gown which feels a bit subdued by her standards, but I’m enjoying the change of pace.

XIV Karats jewels completed her look. 

There was yet more purple to be had courtesy of Shannon Thornton wearing this exquisite Tony Ward Fall 2022 Couture cut-out gown.

Solea Pfeiffer looked beautiful on the red carpet wearing the KYHA Studios Jagger gown featuring a voluminous skirt featuring layers of pleated tulle.
