End Of The Week Red Carpet Roundup

As the week draws to a close, we look back at some of the beauties who made statements on the red carpet.

Emily Blunt: The actress showcased the designer’s feminine charm in a brightly coloured Carolina Herrera Spring 2019 outfit at SiriusXM’s Town Hall with the cast of ‘Mary Poppins Returns.’ The frock will likely have many dreaming of spring.

Tracee Ellis Ross: The ‘Black-ish’ star embraced a glamorous disco spirit in Gucci Resort 2019 at Equality Now’s Make Equality Reality Gala 2018. It’s a completely different mood than the runway version and is in keeping with her bold aesthetic.

Glenn Close: Outfitted in Dior Pre-Fall 2018 with a Dior leather embroidered tarot clutch, the actress proved the merits of clean lines at the Museum Of The Moving Image Salute to Glenn Close.

Front Row @ Versace Pre-Fall 2019

Pre-Fall collections are perhaps seen as the less interesting or sexy of all the collections presented, but now it seems that they are just as important at Fall and Spring, with big budget shows and A-list front rows.

Following Dior Men and Valentino last week, Versace presented their Pre-Fall 2019 collection in New York City on Sunday (December 2).

Diane Kruger: What a way to showcase your post-baby figure, in a Versace Spring 2019 mini no less. I can’t say the chunky belt is working for me here, but she’s still looking every inch a yummy mummy.

Ciara: While this Spring 2019 Versace suit showcases the brand tailoring, I would’ve loved something a bit more extravagant from Ciara, but the Versace medallion necklace and ruffle hem did prevent this from being a snooze.

Blake Lively: The actress shelved her favoured suit for an iconic Versace chainmail dress from the Spring 1999 collection. I love the ’90s spirit imbued in this look from the dress to the bountiful curls. I just wish she’d eased up on the jewels.

Becoming: An Intimate Conversation With Michelle Obama

Becoming: An Intimate Conversation With Michelle Obama

Former First Lady and author Michelle Obama was onstage with Tracee Ellis Ross for ‘Becoming: An Intimate Conversation with Michelle Obama’ on Thursday (November 15) in Inglewood, California.

Tracee Ellis Ross: Never one to be a wallflower with her fashion, Tracee went for a bold and beautiful Carolina Herrera Spring 2019 gown that look to ditzy, retro florals for inspiration while maintaining an utmost classic-elegant appeal.

Michelle Obama: Despite Tracee’s exhilarating florals, she didn’t overshadow Michelle’s custom Christian Siriano suit that was every bit as statement-making for its crisp, white-out effect.

Tracee Ellis Ross In Chloe - Black-ish 100th Episode Celebration

Tracee Ellis Ross was in the celebratory spirit at the ‘Black-ish’ 100th episode celebration on Saturday (November 10) in Burbank, California.

The actress wore a Chloe Spring 2019 look from the runway, but swapped the rope belt and white micro bag for a Tyler Ellis clutch.

Given her penchant for bold, playful red carpet looks I must say that I was expecting a bit more.

That being said, it’s still in her wheelhouse of fashion-forward, cool looks and I do appreciate a different approach.

Tracee Ellis Ross In Marc Jacobs - InStyle Badass Women Dinner

Tracee Ellis Ross has made a lot of bold choices this year. Her Valentino Haute Couture Emmys gown immediately spring to mind, and I’m sure her Giambattista Valli Haute Couture look from the InStyle Awards is still fresh in your memory.

She was still taking risks on Saturday (October 27) where she hosted the InStyle Badass Women dinner, and she wasn’t to be upstaged in her Marc Jacobs Spring 2019 ivory polka dot organza ruffle top and grey mini matte sequin oversized shorts.

What’s my issue with this look?

That she’s not facing the camera head on.

A front on power pose would’ve really sold this look. From this angle all I’m getting is death by ruffles.

I know this look was badass, I just wish to have seen it in all its glory.

Nicholas Kirkwood pumps completed her look.

Tracee Ellis Ross In Giambattista Valli Haute Couture - 2018 InStyle Awards

Now this is how you sell a dress.

Tracee Ellis Ross sent feathers flying at the 2018 InStyle Awards on Monday (October 22) in Los Angeles, California, wearing Giambattista Valli Fall 2018 Haute Couture.

The look could’ve been overwhelming with the ombre feathers, but Tracee used them to her advantage to make this piece a memorable masterpiece.

On some, this could’ve translated to an old fashioned nighties, but Tracee knows how to work a look – and based on this image – to the 10th degree.

Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle Follies’ pink patent pumps and Irene Neuwirth One of a Kind jewels completed her look.
