Lupita Nyong’o received the Montecito Award during the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Monday (January 20) in LA.
The award honors an entertainment industry individual who has made a great contribution to film.
Accepting the award, the Oscar-winner reflected on her six-year film career, which has given us highlights such as ’12 Years A Slave,’ ‘Black Panther,’ ‘Queen of Katwe,’ three ‘Star Wars’ films, ‘The Jungle Book,’ and ‘Us.’
The actress wore a beautiful Dolce & Gabbana dress featuring cascading ruffles that runs the length of this mini, creating a lively silhouette defined by its flared ruffle sleeves and vintage-inspired floral motif.
There was a time when Lupita wore pumps with everything, but her apparent fear of sandals has disappeared, as this beautifully embellished set were the perfect way to inject some sparkle to this look, along with her jewels and gold headband.
As always the makeup – by Nick Barose – was carefully considered to incorporate colours from her frock.
