Diamond Information Center Luncheon Honoring Carey Mulligan’s Academy Award Nomination

It’s been a very busy weekend for so many stars.

British actress Carey Mulligan attended the “Diamond Information Center Luncheon” which was held in her honour as Academy Award Nominee.

The star looked the most uncomfortable I’ve ever seen her on the red carpet wearing a yellow striped Bottega Veneta Spring 2010 dress.

I don’t like this on Carey. It dress feel more appropriate for a summer fete, plus it’s feel really inconsistent with looks we’ve previously seen from Carey.

This was definitely a stylish choice. I don’t believe Carey would choose this look as it’s way too girlie.

I can picture this on Paris Hilton. She loves a sunshine yellow.

This LBD by Gianfranco Ferre is more like it for Carey.

I’m also liking the smokey eye which I don’t think she’s sported before.

A Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton black suede clutch and strappy heels complete the look.

It looks like the “Chanel And Charles Finch’s Pre-Oscar Party celebrating Fashion And Film” in LA was the place to be last night, as our red carpet favourite’s Diane Kruger and Camilla Belle were looking fab in Chanel.

Camilla opted for a mini tweed sleeveless dress with embellished details from Chanel’s Spring 2010 collection.

I’m grateful to see this look without that cardigan, and I adore her Sergio Rossi heels.

They are really interesting as they have a gold heel detail we haven’t seen on this keyhole style before.

As always Camilla looks fresh, young, chic and Best Dressed of the week worthy.

Nicole Richie was a vision of perfection when she arrived on the red carpet at the Montblanc charity cocktail party hosted By The Weinstein Company last night in LA.

Every now and then I see a look that almost renders me speechless, and this is it.

Nicole was glowing in her Zac Posen Spring 2008 blue gown.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen her look this good.

I love the signature Posen ruffled hem, the detail on the bodice that gives Nicole a streamline silhouette and that electric blue colour which always pops on the red carpet.

J’Adore…Adore.

It’s apparently been raining all day in LA which I pray won’t ruin the Oscars tonight.

Before I do my “rain rain going away, come again another day” tribal dance, here’s the beautiful Diane Kruger who will no doubt whet your appetite for tonights big event.

The German actress was one of the stunning guests at “Chanel And Charles Finch’s Pre-Oscar Party celebrating Fashion And Film” in LA last night.

She arrived with her beau Joshua Jackson wearing a Chanel Fall 2009 Couture dress.

The stunning gold dress was covered in multi-coloured sequins of a circular design.

Her Jimmy Choo ‘Nina’ nude heels complement the dress perfectly, and I’m glad Diane opted out of wearing the train.

We prayed when we saw this collection that people would ditched the trains, but it did work for Kate Hudson.

I know she will top this look at the Oscars, but I already want to put her up for Best Dressed of the Week.

I think Camilla Belle’s Marchesa feathered confection was equally loved and hated.

But the love shone through to crown her Best Dressed this week.

If we were talking about the week she definitely deserved recognition for stepping out on the red carpet looking fab at each event.

This won’t be a popular choice as only 5% of you agreed, but I LOVED Rihanna in her Alexandre Vauthier jumpsuit.

Sexy, edgy, daring and on top of that she totally OWNED the look.

I dare anyone else to wear this jumpsuit with this much fabulousity.

Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fall 2010 presentation took us on a global adventure. We visited West Africa, Turkey, Peru, Morocco, Thailand, India, Russia, Greece, China and many other exotic locations.

The looks were mixed: Chinese silks were paired with Moroccan shoes and West African head scarves. This was best presented by Coco Rocha’s look above.

Thigh-high boots continue to rule the runway but JPG presented us boots which were printed with either florals or stripes. Trench coats were cut to the thigh to show off the boots.

The PETA protesters chanted outside the venue, but that didn’t prevent JPG from presenting pieces trimmed with fox fur and mink.

Jewelery and ankle bells jingled over the loud live band who played the African drums and other instruments.

Other distinct accessories included Masai necklaces.

We saw embroidered tunics, Greek pleated skirts, silk cheongsams, gypsy skirts, military coats, sharply tailored pinstriped suits and very baggy harem pants.

Will we see this collection on the red carpet?

I didn’t think we’d see the previous collection on the red carpet, but it was worn by Dita von Teese and Rihanna so we will have to wait and see.

Gaultier was in very high spirits as he sprinted down the runway at the end of the presentation which you can see in the video.

Normally at this point Anna Wintour rushes out of a venue, but she was still clapping along to the music after JPG had exited the runway and I sensed she was hanging around for a reason.

Then JPG ran back onto the runway, this time wearing a fur trimmed rucksack on his back which had been worn by Sasha Pivovarova during the presentation.

Oh how everyone laughed.

Kate Bosworth arrived on the red carpet at the Montblanc charity cocktail party hosted By The Weinstein Company last night in LA.

The blonde actress arrived wearing gold pointy heels with a colourful digitally printed Peter Pilotto Spring 2010 dress.

You may remember Lisa Snowdon wore a dress from the same collection recently and looked ridiculous at the Elle Style Awards.

Kate fairs much better than Lisa as she carries off these strong colours without the print overwhelming her, but the real winner of this look is definitely the model.
