Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet Roundup: Day Two
Here is a roundup from this evening’s Cannes Film Festival premieres.

Gold Standard
Hande Erçel brought full glamour to the red carpet in her gold Sophie Couture strapless gown, while the Pomellato Gemme Superlative High Jewellery necklace almost stole the show. Together, the look had the kind of glamour Cannes red carpets were built for.

Lace In The Limelight
Mélanie Thierry’s Dior Haute Couture gown felt like a continuation of the same visual story as Ruth Negga’s Dior look from the opening ceremony. The hammered satin texture paired with the black lace appliqué gave the dress an old-world romance, but after yesterday’s outing, I’m already craving a wider fashion range from the house at Cannes.

Not Quite Her Lane
I don’t know about you, but this Miu Miu dress doesn’t feel like a Gillian Anderson look at all, as it feels disconnected from the sharper elegance she usually brings to the red carpet. Chaumet jewels completed her look.

Fringe Benefits?
I thought I liked this Chanel Spring 2026 Haute Couture fringed multicoloured dress when it first appeared on the runway, but Anna Mouglalis is making me rethink it, as she’s not selling it at all. I’m going to need a rerun on this dress.

A Different Direction
Aja Naomi King is usually one of the actresses bringing dramatic ball gowns to Cannes, so this Miu Miu lace dress felt like a noticeable switch-up. Thankfully, the intricate detailing gives the dress enough coverage that the underlayer – which looks like a bikini – never becomes the focus. Messika jewels completed her look.

Mosaic Magic
Sara Sampaio wore Waad Aloqaili Spring 2026, and this instantly stood out thanks to that incredible sculpted silhouette. The sharply carved hips contrasted against the sleek column shape created such a striking hourglass effect, while the intricate mosaic embellishment shimmered beautifully under the Cannes lights. Between the precision of the construction and the high-shine finish, this delivered the kind of full-scale glamour I adore. Messika jewellery completed her look.

Black Tie Pairing
Charles Leclerc looked sharp in a Giorgio Armani shawl-collar tux alongside his wife, Alexandra Leclerc, who wore a shimmering Paolo Sebastian gown styled with Messika jewellery. Together, they were picture-perfect.

Parisian Precision
Léa Drucker wore a Louis Vuitton black crepe tailored dress accented with silver jewellery buttons and black satin pumps. Clean, elegant, understated sophistication.

Bow Down
Araya A. Hargate wore an Armani Privé Fall 2025 black velvet gown topped with an oversized crystal bow bodice. It feels subtle by her standards, even with the statement necklace.
