Patrick Ta Reveals How He Created Gigi Hadid’s Met Gala Glam

Celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta worked with Gigi Hadid to create her Met Gala glam, achieving the look using all Maybelline New York products.

Patrick said, “We were inspired by the feeling of being flushed after a romantic evening in a blooming garden, skin radiant, cheeks naturally ignited, as if stepping out of a dream at golden hour.”

Patrick began by prepping Gigi’s skin with the Lifter Plump & Glow Foundation in shade 113, creating a hydrated, radiant base. For concealing, he used Lifter Serum Concealer in shade 20 to even out her complexion while maintaining a skin-like, natural finish.

The star of the show was the Cloudtopia Cheek and Lip Mousse Blush. Leaning into a distinctly blush-forward moment, Patrick blended shades Enchanted Mauve and Toasted Sky to create a fresh, diffused flush that emphasized Gigi’s iconic cheekbones. Her lips featured the iconic Serum Lipstick in shade Upstate and Lifter Liner in shade On It for a soft, neutral finish.

To add dimension, Patrick layered City Bronzer in shades 200 and 300, giving her a warm, lit-from-within glow while also bringing subtle definition to the eyes for a natural finish.

Finally, no look is complete without a polished brow and soft lash look. Patrick finished the glam with a delicate swipe of Colossal Bubble on the lashes and Brow Ultra Slim Micro-Definer Pencil in Ash Brown to define and perfect Gigi’s signature brow shape.
