Alexander McQueen Fall 2023 Ad Campaign

Alexander McQueen unveiled their advertising campaign for the romantically dark and dramatic Fall 2023 ‘Anatomy’ collection starring Naomi Campbell, who walked the runway for this collection), Elle Fanning (friend of the house), models Liu Wen, Karolina Spakowsk, Momo Ndiaye, and Eliott De Smedt Day, actress Eva Green, and French singer Yseult.
Sometimes when celebrities feature in an ad campaign, I say to myself, “she wouldn’t wear that on the red carpet,” but I can picture both Elle Fanning and Eva Green wearing both of the looks they were dressed in.
We all know that Elle can pivot from her sensual neutral shades, to embellished masterpieces and sharp tailoring, so her looks couldn’t have been more perfect for this campaign.
I know some don’t feel that Elle is the right fit for McQueen’s edgy designs, but her Alexander McQueen ‘Jeanne du Barry’ Cannes Film Festival premiere gown, which is currently on my BDOTY list, would argue that belief to be wrong.

Eva is a fashion chameleon, as her style is easily adaptable. Much like Pom Klementieff, I see Eva as the perfect embodiment of an Alexander McQueen woman.
Imagine a Eva Green x Alexander McQueen promo tour. Hall of famers for every outing I would predict.

Fashion photographer David Sims beautifully captured the campaign which sees the models wearing anatomical embroidery deconstructed with a slashed effect, skeletal knitwear, tailored suits and jumpsuits, along with sleek leather coats.

Alexander McQueen’s The Seal bag, inspired by the Tudor rose, also has a starring role in this campaign.

What I love most about this campaign is the feeling of power meets beauty, which is especially felt with the tailored looks.
