India Amarteifio’s ‘Queen Charlotte’ London Screening Fulani Braids

Celebrity hairstylist Nicola Harrowell created India Amarteifio’s fulani braided hairstyle for the London screening of ‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.’
What are Fulani braids?
They are thin to medium-sized braids that follow a specific pattern weaved close to the scalp and fall into long hair extensions.
Nicole said, “I installed India’s braids a couple days ahead of the big night as this look took a while.”
“First, I laid some soft edges around India’s hairline using CURLSMITH Hydro Style Flexi Jelly. I then worked the CURLSMITH Scalp Stimulating Booster into the partings of the braids.”
“Even though we didn’t do these braids too tight there’s still tension which this helps to relieve as well as keep her scalp nourished.”
“I applied some heat protection, then I separated and redefined the curls with the CURLSMITH Curl Defining Styling Soufflé and set the hair using a diffuser. I added some shine using the CURLSMITH Bonding oil. Lastly, I tidied up and tapered the ends.”
Nicole went on to say, “I love the way this turned out and it’s always really fun creating looks for big events. It starts with a picture of the outfit. Then it starts to get exciting whilst the glam team sends ideas back and forth to make sure we’re all working in harmony to achieve the end result.”
“I had been wanting to do Goddess braids on India for a while, but busy schedules hadn’t allowed for it to happen. As they say everything happens for a reason, we managed to find a spare(ish) evening to install them just before the big night.”
“The Fulani braids in the front were India’s suggestion and it works so well because you can see so much of her beauty.”
