Lily James Sleek Black Velvet Dress For The 2019 British Independent Film Awards

Before tonight’s British Fashion Awards, was the 2019 British Independent Film Awards held at Old Billingsgate on Sunday (December 1) in London.

Lily James who is known for her love of floral prints dresses, summery hues and Burberry, served up something unrecognisable on this occasion.

My first thought when I saw this Alessandra Rich Resort 2020 velvet dress was how much it reminded me of L’Wren Scott’s style of design, with the high collar, long-sleeves, and contrast cuffs which many regarded a ‘schoolmarmish.’

I really like this on Lily, mostly because it elegant and sleek, plus it’s both weather and season appropriate.
