Her awards season run was one of the most consistent this year. We were so fixated on what Teyana Taylor, Renate Reinsve, and Chase Infiniti were going to deliver, but it was Rose who became the one to watch.

So it pains me to see her in these Von Trapp family drapes courtesy of Colleen Allen.

Looking at the model in this marigold jacquard dress and coat, it would appear that ill-fitting and overly long proportions were the point, so I have to give Kate Young credit for adjusting the length.

However, I would have taken this further by removing the coat entirely, allowing the dress to lead. But as presented, I’m not a fan of how this translates on Rose. The added volume through the wrap swallows her, leaving the look feeling disjointed.

It would appear that stylists Kate Young, Danielle Goldberg, and Nell Kalonji are fans of this designer, but this look reinforces why I am not a fan of the brand’s aesthetic, and I don’t feel it aligns with what I want to see from Rose on a red carpet.

Stylist: Kate Young.
