2023 Grammy Awards Menswear Red Carpet

We can’t forget the men who walked the red carpet for the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 5).
Camel has always been a great colour for Dwayne Johnson.
Remember his Ralph Lauren look for the TIME100 gala?
This custom Dolce & Gabbana silk suit highlights the designer’s exceptional tailoring, but the silk tank top is what really sold this look to me.

With stronger lighting, we would be able to see that Diplo’s custom Dolce & Gabbana black suede ensemble features fringed detailing the length of his long sleeve coat.
Dolce & Gabbana embossed leather crocodile boots completed his look.

Gus Kenworthy isn’t a freestyle skier anymore, but his Prada cream denim jumpsuit vaguely resembles a ski suit.
Even though I had to dig deep to find that connection, I’m still asking myself why?
A Prada polo shirt, black leather booties and Prada Symbole silver chain necklace completed Gus’ part skier/part labourer look.

Fat Joe shows that real men wear hot-pink dressed in a bespoke 5001 Flavors Clothing Co. suit.
It’s a shame that the trousers weren’t tailored to fit, considering this was a custom look.

I love the neutral tones of this Ernest W. Baker suit worn by Jack Harlow. But I’m not a fan of those leather gloves.
They may ease in the black shoes, but they don’t make much sense to me as an accessory with this look.

I had to google Jacob Collier to find out what his genre of music is.
When I discovered that his style fuses elements of jazz, a cappella, groove, folk, then this FRÖHLIC look made so much sense as someone so creative is likely to serve up an expressive and non-conformist aesthetic.

Kendrick Lamar served up a nod to the ’90s style with a part formalwear, part streetwear preppy mix wearing a Martine Rose Fall 2023 look with the unreleased gradient blue pair Martine Rose x Nike Shox sneakers, which I thought were heeled shoes at first.

LL Cool J wore a Prada suit styled with Ferragamo shoes and Gucci shades.

I’m not entirely convinced that this custom Dolce & Gabbana look was such a great idea for Machine Gun Kelly as the silver tone is making him appear washed out.
A collection of jewels including a Kallati ring completed his look.

Miguel gave us another ode to the ‘90s in this Diesel Spring 2023 denim ensemble.
Giant Vintage Genetic Gray/Flash Sports sunglasses completed his look.

After Omar Apollo’s Valentino Haute Couture look from last week, I was kinda bummed by this Bottega Veneta look because I wish he had swapped looks and wore this for the pre-Grammy event.

Pharrell Williams rocked a red leather studded Ernest W. Baker Fall 2022 look which feels kinda subdued for him.
He accessorised with custom-designed Tiffany & Co. sunglasses and a Tiffany Lock bangle.

Quavo paid a tribute to Takeoff wearing a Givenchy Fall 2023 all black look.

Questlove showcases that all you need is one statement piece. In this case it was this beautiful Ermenegildo Zegna Couture coat.

Ryan Hurd was one of the few who opted for a classic tux.
And it doesn’t get more classic than Giorgio Armani.
His suit was styled with a Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Retrograde Day-Date timepiece, Bruno Magli Armando boots and David Yurman cufflinks.

Saint Jhn went the less is more route wearing Maison Margiela flared suit with the accessories – including a Maison Margiela Glam Slam leather clutch and diamond choker – that ensured his look didn’t go unnoticed.

Kim Petras and Sam Smith accepted The Best Pop Duo Award wearing red Valentino looks.

The Sebastian Yatra x Dolce & Gabbana union continued with this custom embellished suit styled with Cartier jewels.

Smokey Robinson was not to be missed in his Dolce & Gabbana teal three-piece stretch wool Sicilia-fit tuxedo suit with contrasting peak lapels.

Grammy winner Steve Lacy and his mother Valerie Lacy were twinning in their Saint Laurent suits.
Both look great, but if this was who wore it best contest, Steve’s Saint Laurent Jam black and white shoes win it for me.

Steve collected his Grammy Award wearing his second Saint Laurent look (and one of my favourites) of the night.
A full leather look is not an easy look to pull off, but Steve does so with plenty of swagger.

Of all the people wearing Gucci, Trevor Noah was easily the best dressed following JLo and Beyonce.
His look was styled with Cartier jewels.

Tom Daley always serves up high end labels, but I never find myself appreciating his style.
This Stella McCartney look is very uninspired.
