Greta Gerwig In Proenza Schouler – 2020 Golden Globe Awards

Greta Gerwig stunned with a modern nod to the tuxedo on the red carpet for the 2020 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 5) in Beverly Hills.
While the director of ‘Little Women’ has been called the “Red Carpet’s Queen of Whimsy” by Vogue for donning shades like tangerine, pink, and red, she chose a sleek and serious look for this night, wearing a custom Proenza Schouler Pre Fall 2020 design.
The designer added a white off-the-shoulder cape to the sleeveless black dress, creating the illusion of a tuxedo’s lapels.
Personally, I love this more edgy look for Greta as she seems more youthful and rebellious.
The gelled back bob and metal choker perfectly compliment the off-the-shoulder neckline and side beading of the dress.
Perhaps both Greta and I have grown tired of her usual flowy dress and soft curls combination.
Though she isn’t nominated for a Golden Globe this year, she is a winner in my book for switching up her look.
